Imo Oda wont avoid Luffy going there regardless and even if its purpose is redundant it doesnt mean he cant use the island, say for example, to host a big war between Yonko and Marines over the RPs
Symbolically its the last island anyone can reach without them, and IMO since Oda has refused to even show the design of Lodestar it means he intends for Luffy to go there.
If he showed it like he's shown Hachinosu or God Valley, then yeah Id agree it could be skipped in the journey, but he hasnt and I ultimately think its the last location where characters like Shanks, Mihawk, Blackbeard and even Akainu potentially fall depending on who is fought and when.
He doesnt even call this the final battle lol.
This "fight" for PK could take as long as Wano for all we know, then we have Laugh Tale and whatever final battle against the WG that follows it lol.
All in all, its definitely not going to be shorter than Wano was in isolation. Too much to address and focus on

Ive talked about this at length.
It makes sense for them to be involved in the RP war:
- Ryokugyuu implying the Marines will fight the RHP too (not just Blackbeard)
- Marines included with the other Yonko during the One Piece claims
- Koby proclaiming he'll stop Luffy from becoming PK (implying that fight has to happen BEFORE LT)
- Garp being captured, which heavily implies a response from the Marines (Sengoku, etc)
Its all coming together, and I dont think the Marines will be absent from this.
Imo, Chapter 650 is still one of the most important chapters in this series because it details Oda's intentions for Blackbeard and Akainu as the pinnacle of Piracy and Marines respectively
Aokiji is also connected to both Akainu and Blackbeard, further tying them together.
The way this has always been framed is (sans Imu), to be the ultimate Roadblocks for Luffy to become PK.

Okay, seriously, what’s going to happen is that Loadstar will be like Zou: a short arc with a calm moment where a character (the man marked by flames) explains a lot of information in a long professorial monologue to the Straw Hats (like Inuarashi in the Whale Tree). After, Laugh Tale will be a race against time with other pirates, full of obstacles and confrontations.

Imo Lodestar IS that site of confrontation. It might be redundant in finding Road Poneglyphs but its symbolism in being the last island normal people can reach makes sense to me that the Burned Scar Man and 4th RP might be found and fought over here by everyone.
The only "real" question is if Teach's group actually makes it to Laugh Tale along with Luffy after this, and if Oda wants to have their fight there or not.
Ultimately though he cant write around the RP war he's already set up since post Wano, and that HAS to come before LT.

I doubt Oda would just soft confirm that the SHs are definitely the ones, who are getting to Laugh tale first, even if we - on a meta lvl - know that it's going to be the case at the end of the day. And I doubt they just get there w/o any difficulties or the interception from another party.
I also doubt he would just rush the process of them claiming the 4th Poneglyph. It's just not his style in combination with the wording, which makes it sound like Gaban is not the man marked by flames, I don't think they just get the 4th Road poneglyph out nof nowhere at the end of Elbaf.

Yeah, for Oda to mention The Man marked by flames on this message, I know this person will be important. His presence is crucial too, he has that last road poneglyph that the SH need to reach Laugh Tale.
I truly hope he's a villain that Luffy has to overcome to get the last road poneglyph, or Luffy/Shanks/BB/Buggy together vs that person.
Him being this guy waiting for the right person (Nika) to come and handle him the poneglyph, would be lame imo.
