News MAJOR news on One Piece story future from Oda from Jump Festa 2026

Holy Simp
I see alot of hype for Lodestar.

I personally think that the Strawhats won't go there because of this panel.

But I can see the narrative making a detour over to Lodestar, because this might be the island where Buggy and Cross Guild will arrive, in order to learn about the road to Lough Tale. Just remember they, are the ones who practically start from scratch, no Road Poneglyphs, no translator.

I think the Strawhats will just continue their adventures (maybe into the sky), where we will get a smaller arc with Urouge, before we will race to Lough Tale.

Also when Oda said that two people will face each other, that haven't faced each other before, I immediately had to think about Usopp and Yasopp or Luffy or Dragon.
Oda just is biased towards family related stories, so I think that would be more of Oda's nature.

So what may happen after the flashback imho?
Route A:
-We make a detour like in Egghead, focussing around Cross Guild and Lodestar maybe, with side events like another Impel Down breakout or Teach making moves. (maybe 10 chaps at max).
-Then we go back to Elbaf and close it out before going to the sky (maybe 25-30 chaps)

Route B:
literally Route A just reversed.

But yeah one of my main arguments is a) the panel above, and the headcanon of mine that Urouge's story arc has to happen before Lough Tale.

And you are going to still be wrong because theres absolutely no way Oda resolves his story in less than 130 chapters (i.e. shorter than Wano) when Elbaf isnt even over and Laugh Tale isnt next. This isnt even being called the final battle, of which historically for manga end up being the longest story arc by far in their respective stories.

Its eclipsing chapter 1300 and then some.
1300?
More like 1400 minimum.
And 1500 is the safest bet.

Get yourself confortable boys, we have still a 8-9 years long trip ahead of us.

The fact that Oda hasnt shown Lodestar is confirmation enough that we are going to Lodestar. People use this argument as a reason to not visit it, which doesnt make much sense to me given the alternative.

If we never found out about the RPs beforehand, then we would have to expect Luffy and crew to travel backwards in order to get them. Being nearly 1200 chapters this series clearly does not have the time to afford to do that.

On top of this, Lodestar still serves as the functional last island you can arrive to with a Log Pose. That is something symbolic for Luffy, the crew and the story, to us the readers.

Tbh its where I expect the big fight for the 4th Road Poneglyph to actually be. If Oda has to draw that conflict somewhere, the 2nd to last island on Grand Line makes the most sense.

I always put it like this

- 1300 is less than 4 years away
- 1400 is roughly 7
- 1500 is roughly 10

With probably another year on Elbaf at least (which means roughly through 1200) To expect Oda to resolve

- Shanks
- Blackbeard
- CG and Mihawk
- Akainu and Marines
- The Grand Fleet
- Burned Scar Man and the 4th RP
- Revolutionaries
- Supernova
- Former Shichibukai (allies or not)
- All of Luffy's Kingdom Allies
- Ancient Weapons, One Piece itself and their use.
- The entirety of the WG and all of their subdivisions and heirarchy

Will take longer than Wano. In fact, it wont all be tackled at once because thats impossible either way to try and get hundreds of characters at or near Laugh Tale to begin with.

Imo the first of those points will be tackled in 1 War pre-Laugh Tale, because all of them have a stake in the OP game, and the remaining will be a post-LT affair for the most part. Assuming these are 2 parts, could easily eclipse Wano's length each.

Easily it will hit the 1400-1500 mark. Its not ending in 5 years in the least after Elbaf is even over unless Oda just rushes everything.

Yep I calculated those years based on Elbaf going on until chapter 1200, roughly, maybe even chapter 1225 (100 chapters total). Which means the totality of 2026 in Elbaf and maybe a part of 2027.

Anyway, I agree with you that at least 2 more wars are needed seen the quantity of characters.
I think the first one will be more centred on the end of the Pirate King Race, with a major focus on Shanks, Teach, Cross Guild and a part of the Navy. The islands involved will be Lodestar and Laugh Tale.
Afrer that will come the Final War, with a major focus on the Revolutionaries, the remnants of the Navy and the World Govt.

Yep my thoughts exactly.

Edit: We will all either be talking about the series still in 5 years or complaining that it was rushed lol
