But in WB's case he had a reason.
He simply didn't want to cause collateral damage to Wano and his crew avenging a b̶u̶m̶ ̶f̶r̶a̶u̶d̶ dead man.
And tbh couldn't you use the same argument in reverse? Kaido could easily have challenged WB using Oden's death before MF and never did.
15 years faster out of his prime. But how much stronger would you say WB's crew is compared to Kaido's?
If I recall, he only went 100% all out once with his fruit, right? And that was whilst fisting Akainu.
His crew was still on the island or in the vicinity after all.
I agree. But he is the strongest, and while his portrayal has been diluted a bit it can't be denied that it exists.
Tbh in a way I would compare him and Kaido to Zoro and Sanji. Somewhat stronger blade wielder with green outfit and fire using durability guy with blue theme.
Eh, anime is weird about these sorts of things. Roger the Pirate King was put on a pedestal above Emperors...and then you have DBZ where the King Zeno is above a Priest who is above Angels who are above Gods.
