IMO, he was probably in his 50's already (about ~10 years older than Roger and Garp). I'm on the team who thinks that Xebec is from an older generation (e.g.: Brook's generation, and he might've been the one who annihilated the Rumbar Pirates). He was probably at his 30's when he killed an admiral in Mary Geoise.

Design/appearance isn't a good indicator though, as Roger looked youthful in his late 30's/early 40's and completely changed in his 50's.

He is same age as Roger
Harald starts his career at 15
Roger and Garp also in their teenage years
By the time Xebec reaches Imu's room, he should be 20~.

They also draw parallels with Sabo, Ace, Luffy,

Sabo and Xebec died to CDs
Ace and Roger executed by Marine
Garp kidnapped by Teach

Sabo and Ace are the same age, so it makes Xebec and Roger the same age. With Garp and Luffy slightly younger/older than them.

Because they're captains of a new generation of Super Rookies. Not because of their actual ages.

Garp, Roger and Xebec were explicitly grouped as close in age.
I'm not so sure. Kid, Law and Bege were already pirates 4 years before the current times (check below). If we consider Law's novel, he formed the Hearts Pirates around the age of 13 and first set sail around Luffy's age (~17 years old), around 7 years before the start of the story (Kuma would be from the Worst Generation with that criteria too). Blackbeard has been a pirate for THE most infamous crew at the time for decades already (and was strong enough to be a division commander), this "rookie captain" thing really doesn't fly for me (would Marco be a rookie if he decided to form a crew and set sail?).

I think that they're considered from the same generation because their ascensions coincided. But Brownbeard still calls them "cheeky little pirates" and "problem children", despite some of them being as old or older than him.

Chapter #999
(Btw, Ace could be from the Worst Generation too, if we consider just the "rookie captain" criteria.)

Actually, when Xebec died, Harald was 120 years old, which divided by 3 is 40. Harald died 14 years ago, Xebec 38. So Roger, Garp, Xebec, and also Harald have similar ages; if we follow this logic, if Harald were alive he would be 80, 3 years older than Roger. But that's not how Oda draws Xebec; 56 years ago, in his feats in chapter 1155, he didn't look young, he didn't have the face of a 24-year-old character.

I'd guess Xebec is around 8 to 10 years older than them. Even older than Harald in human years.

I had this discussion with @Rumble and @Dragon777 lately to know or try to guess Xebec age when he died and Xebec age during the flashback

We knew or had this feeling he was older than GV Roger or GV Garp who were 39 and 40

But by how much ?

56 y ago Xebec made his big debut by killing and admiral, trashtalking Imu and massively clashing with Harald

And he died 38y ago at GV

it was indeed said that Xebec Garp and Roger were still growing 40/50y ago and were still « young »

so I don’t think Xebec was 20y older than them it would be weird

So I don’t think he was 55-60 when he died

but Xebec was more accomplished than them, it was his era. And I have a hard time seeing him killing an admiral ar

Also we have Harald and Xebec relationship and parallel

the advantage is we indeed know Harald age

He was 102y / 34y in human years when they first met

And i think both were kinda the same age or around the same age. They were peers

And they kinda met the same end : DR Xebec and HK Harald

We know that Harald died at 144 / 48y old (human years)

And it would somewhat be fitting that they died at tte same age : 48y old

And frankly it kinda fit with Xebec journey :

- 56y ago in MG he was 30y old when he killed the admiral and clash with a 34y old Harald

- in the meantime when building rocks crew and clashing with Roger etc he was late 30s / early 40s

- in GV he was 48 when he died

So I think it fits nicely

what do you think ?

Harald's age when his first met Xebec was 102. In human's age, he was around 34.

I believe 34 (± 1 year) is also the age of his rival, Xebec. So, Xebec's age when he infiltrate MG 56 years ago was around 33-35 MAX (could be younger).
This was also the age when he roamed in the sea and burned with 'the passion of youth'.

When Xebec died 18 years later, he was then already a fully grown adult in One Piece's standard.
If we make a parallel to Harald's age when they first met, Xebec could be around 51-53 years old when he died.
It is the upper ceiling of his age, while the basal is Roger's age at GV (39 years old).
