Xebec was a perfect flashback character. I wish Oda hadn’t taken the tragic route with him, but that’s just my preference. Morj was right, he’s the only character who truly “died” in One Piece. That’s why his death wasn’t grandiose. It was silent, and no one was there to hear his final words. He was forgotten by history, and his will was never properly inherited by Teach, they are nothing alike. Maybe Loki is his true, spiritual successor instead.
