Simply being a Conqueror isn't enough, you can still be overpowered by Domi Reversi and you can't kill Imu's Lackeys.

But the truth is that there's something above CoC, the power of love. Proof of this is that anyone who becomes an Imu's lackey becomes a loveless, cold creature incapable of love. However, some have broken through Imu's control, and the key to doing so is LOVE.

Harald broke through Imu's control with the love he felt for his son.


Gunko broke trough when she remembered Brook, a memory of LOVE


Sanji didn't become as cold-hearted as his brothers because of his mother's LOVE.


Kuma overrode his programming to protect Bonney because of the LOVE he felt for her.



Truth is, my friends, that the only thing capable of defeating Imu is LOVE.

In hindsight, it would appear obvious Rouge could only endure her prolonged pregnancy because of PoL.

Vegapunk outright speculated Kuma managed to protect Bonney because of it.

Thriller Bark which has never been more relevant, also had a striking example.




I'm sure there are other instances we can speculate over, but the bottom line is that PoL is a real part of One Piece and has been for a very long time.

Fundamentally, I don't think PoL is Conqueror's Haki, but a lot of Conquerors have it because they have powerful wills that extend to those they love. I don't think Rouge or Kuma had CoC but the unyielding love of a parent for their child.

Sanji will likely awaken CoC and PoL will be what allows him to achieve feats with Haki others can't - like destroying lasers.
