Russia would not be able to invade Greenland even if they wanted to. Denmark is a NATO country and Europe alone would decimate Russia.
China is also sus as a military power. Have they done anything worth of note aside from giving shitty military weaponry?
Trump wants Greenland for its passage, resources and because he’s an egomaniac. There’s not much to any fears of China nor Russia. Specially since China has made it very clear they rather extend soft power than military power
Problem with that entire assumption is people have taken Russia - Ukraine war as basis to form an opinion with nothing concrete backing it up.
First, Russia hasn't fully mobilized against Ukraine. It's fighting a war front while balancing sanctions and avoiding full mobilization against a nation which is backed by NATO. And, let me tell what no one will tell you - Russia being able to sustain a war front while facing sanctions for this long is in itself a big deal.
It's not just about how quickly one can win but how long one can last.
Second, Trump is insane and an idiot but entire west has remained cautious when it comes to Russia. It's not because of soviet era stuffs but what's developing in front of them can't be ignored - a nexus of Russia + China + North Korea.
Third, that soft power of china you talked about is actually more dangerous. Because what China is doing is expanding itself economically in the Europe through infrastructure, debt and loans, trade while developing itself militarily and technologically behind the curtains.
Add Russia into the mix and you have cocktail you have never seen before.
This entire thing is so huge that CiA in 2000s warned the Bush and Obama administration to take steps to counter balance China before it's too late.
