Not to knock the wind out your sails or argue with the premise of the post but I think it has more to do with the relationship btw the SHs and the Giant Warrior Pirates than anything else. The Giant Warrior Pirates are effectively the SHs little brothers as they are under their umbrella hence why I think Zoro’s referring to both as Kyodai. We can see a similar example of this with Luffy, Sabo & Ace who refer to themselves as brothers as a result of exchanging Sakazuki cups.
