Jack was made to seem a scrub at the end of the very arc he was introduced.

Jack was taken out by Zuneisha, an island sized elephant that's probably soyboy's crewmate himself lmfao. That's probably better then even Kizaru getting stopped by Rayleigh

Well, his natural durability wasn't his strong suit, but he did have a really good DF and armament Haki.

Agreed, but that's generic and applies to pretty much any top level Naruto characters. The scale greatly increased, but I don't think that makes the portrayal of comparison to other characters void.

Sanin>Kisame is pretty clear, though you could argue he wins against their base forms.

What about Aoba stating that Kisame was relative to Itachi, who repeatedly fodderized Orochimaru?

That's the issue. Even during marineford, Oda only highlights the strengths and makes people look stronger than they are. Marco and Jozu looked Admiral level.

Oda just knows how to re-arrange the circumstances to make characters seem stronger than they are. Mainly by gassing their strengths and hiding their flaws.

This is an extremely charitable interpretation of their overall portrayal.

1. Aoba never said they were on the exact same level in PL bro, he said after witnessing Kisame kill himself to protect his secrets, that he was fit to be partners with Itachi. Not some amazing feat of power, let's not get to Zboy tier leaching here lmfao.
2.It doesn't change what we already know, the strongest Akatsuki members are not partnered with eachother. Pain is partnered with Konan, Obito is partnered with Deidara(who isn't weak, but he's supposed to be weaker then Sasori, matchups aside), Kakazu is partnered with Hidan.
3. Itachi isn't ever shown really being super impressed by Kisame's power, what we actually see is both of them respecting eachother as teammate killers, the real reason they're partners.
4. Even if Aoba genuinely believed Kisame is relative to Itachi, it would just mean he has bad intel and doesn't know how strong Itachi is beyond what he showed against Kakashi, which is barely even MS, certainly not the likes of Susano, Shisui's eye, Izanami or the totsuka blade and yata mirror.
5. Kisame is Obito's underling, Obito believed Itachi could have killed him

Nah, with his hydra form had Regen, and he wasn't worried about Susano attacks until Itachi was able to seal him with the Totsuka blade. Same with the first fight, he lost a hand, but he can regen, and ultimately got away.

How is he re arranging their strengths to show only the good parts, when this all happens in one arc, lol? Marco, Vista, Jack and Cracker all deserve to have their strengths looked at, not just weaknesses. The weaknesses do prevent them from being top tiers, but they're still solid high tiers

He didn't portray anything disingenous, Marco and Jozu do have insanely good defenses that admirals and Mihawk struggled with at MF. In theory, they did fight (casual, probably no advanced Haki), Gaban and Rayleigh as kids for *days*

But yeah, AP wise, Marco isn't that good.....

still, they're both stronger then Doffy(who can't really fight an admiral 1v1 at all), and Oda is still doing dumb powercreep stuff with Imcel being easily above the GV6, so your point isn't relevant.

Hype is what sells manga copies. But Oda knows he needs to make things consistent. He always adjusts stuff at the end of the arcs.
