As piss poor as the writing is regarding tension, nothing changes the fact that Imu is still essentially able to solo the Elbaf alliance, and everything is leading up to that. The rest of the GK are for the final war, and DR'ing Loki doesn't make sense with Imu's plan of turning Elbaf into a slave colony,unless you think the SHP are going to fight Imu and DR Loki

You still seem very confident about this lol. I dont think you believed that all of the DR Giants and MMA monsters and 2 of 3 Knights would be manhandled in 3 chapters.

One Piece arcs dont end without some level of payoff. If Imu just gives up and leaves that virtually does nothing for the resolution of this arc on any level whatsoever.

I dont agree that the Knights "need" to be saved for endgame. We already know that they are easily replaceable like the Gorosei.

If Oda uses Elbaph to take out a certain number of Knights, he can just replace them all again for the endgame like he did Saturn.

Haki doesn't work on Imu, we have a pretty solid confirmation of this, when a descendant of Imu's ancient enemy told us the only way to overthrow the government was special devil fruits, and we literally saw it in action.

The legends Haki doesnt work on him, no reason to think god tier haki doesnt work on him though.

Yea but its never drawn in such a way that Luffy can dish out a physical punch on certain people. The most hes done is against Ulti and it was a headbutt he basically lost and then was "saved" by Yamato hitting her instead.

Even Zoro the last time he did this was against Monet and he doesnt actually hurt her when he cuts her in half.


Its just a pattern you recognize with Oda. The "chivalry" is real and he often doesnt let his male heroes harm women.

Gunko healing lets us kinda get around it but do we need to really see that happen 50 times?

I really hope theres more than just Imu controlling one DF user.

More details of the chapter, thanks to redon from Arlong Park Forums.

This week Spoilers are very complete, so I can only add these details of the chapter by myself.

- Chapter 1,176: “Full of Pride”.

- Color Spread in a special poster: “Eiichiro Oda redraws One Piece Volume 12 cover including now all new Straw Hat crew members”.

- Lilith takes a special machine out of Vegapunk box. It's the “OmniDrain Converter” (ODC for short) a machine that can use the “energy” that is existing in an abundance everywhere in Elbaph.

- Lilith gave Franky an upgrade. Lilith is surprised that Franky, having a Pacifista-level body, has never tried something greater than “cola” as energy source.

- Nami orders Zeus to put out school flame but Killingham arrives and orders MMA lindworm to swallow Zeus.

- Lilith and Franky arrive too. Lilith uses the “ODC” to suck all heat energy, making both school and library freeze. Then Lilith turns heat energy into “super heavy cola” and gives it to Franky.

- Killingham orders MMA lindworm to crush the school and insults Jinbe for being fishman. Sanji appears in front of Killingham and says he'll punish him for insulting his nakama.

- In an EPIC double page, Jinbe (using “Vagabond Drill”) and Franky (powered with “super heavy cola” and using a new punch-attack called “Strong Dexter”) defeat MMA lindworm and free Zeus. And in the same double page, Sanji crushes Killingham head brutally with “Concassé”.

- Domi Reversed Dorry and Brogy say goodbye to each other and cut each other's head. But their bodies flip back (like when Imu used Domi Reversi but in the other way) to normal self and they are now fully recovered.

- In the AMAZING final double page of the chapter we see Zoro, Dorry, Brogy, Hajrudin, and Stansen standing together, ready to fight the other Domi Reversed giants.

Stansen: "Dying once would end their demonic transformation!!!"

Brogy: "Even if they become a ruined corpse, once flipped over they'd be as good as new!!"

Zoro: "So we can just go for it?"

Hajrudin: "No need for holding back!!
It would appears that if we inflict enough damage to kill them, they'd be back to normal!!"

Dorry: "Slicing off their heads... digging out their hearts...”

- Chapter ends with all of them grinning malevolently and saying “We can't do that...” looool

Anyway as for the things I liked about the chapter

Franky’s been due for a powerup since… forever actually. He was one of the only Strawhats that hadn’t received a single upgrade since the start of the timeskip so he was due for one

Glad to see that he’s actually getting to spend time with Vegapunk (should’ve happened in Egghead but we move)

Sanji defending Jinbei is a really nice moment and I’m glad Oda wrote it in. The jealous gag is funny but it’s nice that Sanji’s willing to set all that aside when it comes to helping a crewmate

One thing I think most people can respect about Nami is at the very least she always tries to take action. I feel like people forget that out of every member of the weakling trio she’s almost always the first one to step up to the plate

I also don’t think it’s fair to discredit her for failing to beat an MMA considering one MMA is capable of taking on an entire squadron of trained giants singlehandedly. The Nika MMA was going like 1v10 before getting hit with the Elbaf Spear

Loving the teamwork between Zoro and the Giants as well. It’s funny to see them all on the same devilish timing

Same, if we just the Domi Reversi bullshit, it's actually a decent chapter with long die focus on SHP.
