Nah, Oda originally said he planned for Zoro to be the deuteragonist, which is pretty obvious in the first volume of the manga, where Zoro is the first guy Luffy recruits, and there's a chapter titled "Pirate King and the Master Swordsman" or whatever, and he's called Luffy's partner by the likes of Smoker etc. We're so many years removed from that, but it's clearly the initial idea.

how exactly did oda restrict zoro tho?

He took a 2 yonko ultimate attack(zorotards are proud to claim it's by far the strongest attack in the series), and then scarred kaido. all the while goofy was a complete liability.

Like, it took that attack to take zoro off the rooftop. That's not shafting or restricting. That's insanely high wank lol. Compare that to the other "wing" or the other member of the "origin trio". They don't get anything at all.

I mean, it's alright. But I'm talking about building meaningful connections to the country of Wano, having praise from Kaido like Luffy got(Zoro's feat was objectively a bigger deal, and he was using Oden's sword), and probably a better swordsman dynamic with King that allows Zoro to leave the country as someone genuinely famous.

Also, it's very clear that oda is holding off on making zoro known to the world fully until he becomes the wss. Cause being known to the world as the wss is way more hype than being known as goofy's underling.

This is just a cop out? He's still a pirate, and he can get famous for his achievements. We don't need to wait for the literal end of the manga for WG members to know about Zoro, when they all knew about Luffy like 1000 chaps ago. We know Katakuri/Jack/Rayleigh/Gaban all got famous in the NW for their achievements/rumors. No reason Zoro couldn't have, especially now that he scarred Kaido, cut up a huge creature in Pica, and beat a yc1

It's funny how you guys are so hung up on goofy's portrayal on rooftop while ignoring zoro's actual feats lol
