This thread is to discuss why people (retards) wanted this matchup or were pushing for it. Please tag all the proponents.

Thematically and narratively this matchup made no sense at all and I said this many times back then but retards just wanted the equal wings portrayal I guess.

Dorry and Broggy are the main link of the SHs to the giants and Elbaf. Until this chapter all DRed characters ended up dead (to the readers knowledge). So why would Oda have the SHs kill the giant duo when SHs dont kill any opponents on screen.
Dorry and Broggy were made the new kings of Elbaf, the thematically correct fight would have been against Hajrudin and Loki, the real princes of Elbaf with the claim to the throne.
Sanji had zero connection with either giant in Little Garden. Luffy built connection with Dorry (the swordsman) while Zoro built connection with Broggy (the axe wielder), while Usopp had an overall connection. Even the hunting competition thing is different. The giants didnt have a competition, they caught two sea monsters and the girl asked which was bigger while in the SHs case it was Zoro who ragebaited Sanji.

Yeah, they wanted it because, agenda-wise, Zoro vs. Dorry and Sanji vs. Brogy would have meant fighting truly equal-level opponents. No duo has been portrayed as more equal than those two: no difference in rank, bounty, Doriki, or anything else.

Because they were the only impressive looking subordinates which means they’re the only interesting match ups since the Holy Roppo are fodder

I don't really know why you act this insecure lol. I have never said, or even thought, that Sanji and Zoro were equally strong, especially now with Sanji having genes but lacking any advanced haki.

Them vs Dorry and Brogy came from the fact that both were (by far) the strongest adversaries under Imu, much stronger than any of the Holy Fodders. And the two strongest always go to Zoro and Sanji. Then nothing would have stopped Zoro from winning far more easily than Sanji and Sanji from being beaten almost to death in the process.

Obv. I could not imagine the total nothing burger, but Oda is a hack.

A shame, Zoro vs Dorry or Borgy DR would have been far more interesting than Sommers, but alas.

For that reason, I was confident from the beginning there wouldn't be a Wings vs Ogres fight.

We're been calling that it won't happen since day one...
No matter how jobber HK looks, their chance of being defeated by anyone other than monster trio or Loki is zero, while any person can handle the side quest Domi reversi victim with some plot.

Acting like DR Giants is bigger price and interesting than beating HK who are top elite WG force that are immortal and that can only be harm by 1 in million ppl of the world.....just because DR Giants looks more badass.

Why Zoro retards pushed ZKK ?

The funny thing about ZKK is that it could absolutely work, but really only in a specific context.

Because One Piece is really kid friendly, Strawhats would die for Luffy, but not all of them have it in them to kill for him. At least not without it taking a toll.

From a Wings perspective, I like shouldering the burden of death dealing when needed being Zoro's domain. It would be fitting of his personality, his thematic association with death and the underworld, and his Wano heritage.

Had Luffy defeated Kaidou in a way that allowed for a heavily injured Kaidou to still try to attack him, I would've liked to see Zoro finish him.

Even better if Kaidou recognised the resemblance to his great uncle when it happened.

And Xebec is ultimately special enough that it works. It doesn´t really apply on Elbaf.

Dorry and Brogy seem pretty equal so what better way to do it by having Zoro and Sanji fight them additionally, there was a push back in Wano for Zoro and Sanji to tag team King and Queen once more to push a specific narrative we know who they are…

The HKs shown so far, Shamrock is also a HK and he is by no means a fodder. Wasnt Gunko also being wanked? And we dont even know about Killingham yet, its mostly Sommers being the hypetool
