The sword isn't wood coloured, you can see his fingers turning into branches so the contrast is quite clear. He wouldn't be constantly applying CoA to a sword he isn't even using, so yea.

I can see why people would question if it's a black blade, but it being wooden doesn't actually change the fact that it's very clearly black in the black and white manga, when wood on its own is never coloured that way.

My only issue with it being a wooden blade is the haimon pattern, and the fact that the blade looks absolutely identical to Shusui. I don’t care if it’s a blackened wooden sword or not, but it’s very clearly a black blade, and imo very clearly a black metal blade.

Jupeter's hair color isn't the actual only example. There are a few characters that have had different color designs. Oda doesn't vet everything in the end.

Also, There's only one wooden sword in Ronin Gai and that was at the beginning of the film.

So the bulk of the remaining ones will go to opponents that will be relevant in the final arc/saga and will be fought otherwise its just literal waste.
