Yeah, Ace Sabo and Vivi are the three characters not on the crew who don't break the pattern if something is only for nakama. If something was only done for Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Ussop, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook, Jinbei, Ace, Sabo, and Vivi, it might as well be only crewmembers, and anyone else included should raise some eyebrows. My only holdup is that Oda could have just been doing all the nakama first, and now that he finished them, he's moving on to other characters. We could just as easily see Law or Shanks next time and then it's meaningless.

It sucks because despite believing Yamato is going to join I struggle to fully like them. Oda definitely dropped way too many plot points in wano

He'll def pick it back up once Oda has Moria go back to Wano.

Future Yamato is 100% sailing with the crew, which we knew because she said on Wano multiple times that she wanted to do it and she has an open invitation (along with Momo and Kin) to join whenever she wants.

Whether that’s in the series proper, or as part of an epilogue after the main story is done is still up in the air.

My gut instinct is still that she only joins at a point where the main adventure is done (along with like Tama or some shit) and the crew is complete for 99% of the actual story, except for Vivi’s finale role.

But the only ones he’s done this for (so far) are the Strawhats, Vivi and Luffy’s brothers. That’s quite a exclusive list especially when you consider what characters he hasn’t done it for (he must be absolutely bombarded with Shanks, Law, Kid and Hancock requests at the least, given how popular they are).

But we could also see this is him starting doing it for all these characters, which makes it a bit less special.

Yamato has to finish Oden's business at Laugh Tale, so of course she'll be there for that.

Not really, and if we get to see Yamato as a SHP in the epilogue, it's kinda "who cares", although that person who made a tattoo with SHP+Yams will probably be happy.
