Oh no, they have agency, but the mollah stripped them of this agency and the imperialist of the US forced them to push a revolution in the first place. So instead of talking about the alliance of leftists with religious far rightist, we should talk about mollah and the imperialism in the context of a bad praxis from leftists.
But here, we are talking about Revolutions. In case of revolutions, or resistance, it's logical to make alliances. The case you are making "ironically a lot of leftists do happen to work with far rightists " is disinguenous since you are stripping the contextual informations of said alliances > the necessity to take down the regime of the shah, supported by the US.
In the context of war, alliances are a question of survival. Here, we are talking about protests.
Leftist are antifascist by definition (or they are not to be trusted as leftists). There is no such thing as "islamofascist " on the left. it's a moral panic created by far rightists.
There are muslim fighting on the left. Yea. but they are antifascist, antiimperialist. Usually far more politically aware than most people here including both of us on progressism and often revolutionnaries.
I don't know about UK, maybe the left is stupid there. But in France, we have people with ethical lines. From what I see and here, I see no reason to believe you on other country.
