Oda didnt plan for his series to go on for this long. Hes broadening its ending. The signs began with the MF arc and then again with the Reverie arc.

Yes, unlike Joyboy and Davy Jones, Imu was added to the story very late, I don't like this, but at least we are saved from the possibility of it coming even later, still, it is sad to see its current state when we could have seen a better story
