Future Events 10 REASONS WHY IMU WILL LOSE IN ELBAPH

#45
What bugs me is this fascinating idea that a faction leader will lose in an arc without his faction lol, like its just something that happens in this series all the time.

Imagine if Crocodile lost in Whiskey Peak. Doflamingo alone on Punk Hazard without his family. Kaido by himself on Zou.

Thats what people are suggesting right now. Imu losing without his Gorosei, Holy Knights, Cipher Pol, and Seraphim.

Like are we for real lol? Have we ignored the last 130 chapters?

I too think that Imu will “lose” here, but it’s probably more accurate just to say that he can’t really win from a plot perspective I think. I think he’s here to give us a glimpse of his power, maybe flex a bit, but ultimately be repelled. Maybe we can hope for some more lore drops but I don’t see Imu winning this, mainly because I think Elbaph has to actually be in tact/not under WG control by the time we reach the final war.

Simple reasons why Imu will win (meaning he will not be defeated and at least cause substantial damage)

1. The final villain needs to be a real threat and show his power

2. Strawhats need a Sabaody-like defeat after timeskip to get power-ups

3. Perfect transition to Ragnarok and escalation of global war arc (just like Madaras first appearance)

4. Luffy has not mastered awakening and Kings haki and needs to do so to defeat Imu + Luffy was always defeated by overpowered villains first

5. The mural teases Imu on the left side being attacked by what is supposed to look like the Strawhat pirate alliance. This shows the real battle against Imu, which will not happen now. Still enough mysteries and stories to be solved before Imus defeat (Lily, Vivi, 20 kings, void century, Mary Geoise incident, mural, etc.)

6. If Imu dies, most of gorosei and probably holy knights will die with him, causing immediate collapse to the WG (which will be dissappointing lol)

Well yeah. The time limit was put there by Oda for a reason.

Imu is safe until the void century flashback, he isn't falling before we learned what exactly happened back then. We don't even know what was his relationships with Joyboy and Lili, and why he desire Vivi for. Considering we just got out the of the longest flashback in the series, all these things will be properly answered later. (Although we'll likely get some hints in his dialogue with Lufy this arc)

Muzan was revealed on like episode 7 in demon slayer and was the main villain for example, the idea that an antagonist has to die when their goals and identity is revealed is retarded.
That's a good thing if any, a major complaint about Imu is the fact that he came "late" into the story. Building him up is the least Oda can do.

If Imu has a time limit, maybe this can be just the first round/first meeting between Imu and Luffy

Luffy is currently unable to fight,so he will try something but it wont work. Loki will fight, but Imu will surely be hyped in some way,so i expect him to make some serious damage to Elbaph, otherwise the hype of the character wouldnt work

But, after he does these damages, the time limit will break so he will be forced to retreat, but he will have at least obtained something (Will he kidnap someone maybe?) and his strenght will be hyped a lot

Or maybe the final fight between Luffy and Imu will really happen here, but i dont see how could that happen consider both Imu and Luffy/Loki seem to have some handicap right now

Do you subscribe to the theory that he’ll be dispelled by Usopp (somehow) destroying his summoning circle?

Last chance for Oda to actually give Bumsopp something to do this arc
Oda hates Usopp so much he's giving the other weakhats unprecedented focus in the arc instead. It's actually funny tbh

Maybe Hajrudin gets the honors instead?
