Trump is really bad war time president. I think the ultimate goal is still not clear he needs clear way out to show he won but if he leaves with strait of hormuz , Gulf will be having open season from Tehran.

My guess is Gulf are pressurising him to continue they know Don leaves they are fucked. Lets see how things go in 2 weeks. So, UK has convened a virtual meeting to re-open Hormuz after fighting stops.

Atleast 35 countries are in it. Some reports mention 60.

Few countries which are involved in the discussions are-

United Kingdom
France
Germany
Italy
Canada
United Arab Emirates
India
Japan
Australia
New Zealand
South Korea


USA was not invited to participate.


They are exploring diplomatic and political measures. Important thing is military planners from all these countries would meet next week which suggests even military options to provide safe and secure passage for vessels are on the table.

Hopefully if Starmer and Macron gets this through with Iran then that would be huge .

Infact, everyone is blaming US for the rising fuel prices. To make matters worse for them, by not planning control of Hormuz before hand, US end up giving massive leverage to Iran.

Situation is so bad that some reports are suggesting that Iran is levying 1 yuan / oil barrel or in crypto currencies for ships to transits and claiming entire Hormuz control.

This is massive problem - not just for USA but for the entire global economy.

What actually shocked me was seeing Japanese protests regarding Trump and the Epstein War in Iran.

Japan has a brutal history regarding political protesters. Most people from there want nothing to do with political protesting, and in general, don't want to have arguments about politics. From what i've seen, it's pretty much the exact opposite of america.

The US dragging foreign countries that really shouldn't have anything to do with this conflict and do it is incredibly unpopular worldwide.

If the Japanese are protesting against trump and that lady supporting him, actual public anger is way worse than is being reported.

None of these people will specifically affect the midterms though. Bondi isn't the one up for election, and the bad optics she has are all related to Trump, who is going nowhere and who has been central to the republican identity since 2016.

This administration has also removed an unprecedented number of top military officers, replacing them with yes-men who will likely just stamp whatever brilliant plans they will come up with. Those brilliant plans are why there is an energy crisis right now.
