I think Imu will get some uneasy feeling from sensing Zoro's haki, left eye or giving Ryuma reference and hopefully Zoro with Mihawk reference when he look at Imu's eye.

Similar to Kaido's when he sensed Zoro's Enma. After all, he has stronger AP than Luffy and black blade is probably the only few option that can seriously hurt Imu.

I think if we look at the major villains Zoro has mostly had some sort of encounter with them
Arlong for EB
Croc for Alabasta (No Encounter)
Enel for Skypeia
Lucci in W7
Oars and Kuma instead of Moria in TB
Hody in FI
Caesar/Vergo for PH (No Encounter)
Fuji in DR (Doffy got saved)
Kaido and BM in Wano
Gorosei in EH

So there is good chance that there will be some sort of encounter with Imu too. And unless we have only Luffy as a hard counter to Imu like against Enel then people praying for Zoro failing against Imu like he did against Enel is not going to happen.

Of course there are Croc, Moria and Doffy examples where Zoro didn't have an encounter with but in two cases at least he encountered bigger/stronger opponents (Oars/Kuma and Fuji) for the arc.

Depends on what Imu wants. If he’s after Nika and Nidhogg, he could just teleport to them. If he’s trying to gather his holy knights, he’d also have to deal with Sanji. If he wants both, expect him to face Zoro, Sanji, Luffy, and Loki.

Seems like Zoro and the others have to hold off Imu for quite a while. Imu going there alone means he cannot rely on God's Knights or anybody else.
