General & Others One piece’s pacing seems completely fine

I’m a first time watcher,

i recently searched up “when will the last episode of one piece air“, and I came across a lot of people discussing how “annoyingly“ long one piece is and how they were happy that it was turning into a seasonal anime as it speeds up the plot more.

I get that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but seriously how the hell are people complaining about having too much of a good thing. if you have watched over 1000 episodes of a show, that clearly means you liked it and that means that show should continue with that same formula. If you don’t like one piece‘s pacing then they should have just stopped at Namis arc OR watch one pace. I seriously saw people talking about “the show doesn’t respect the viewers time“, what I don’t get about these people is if the show didn’t click with them like 100 episodes in then why the hell would they continue to try to watch it. The absolute worst thing they can do is pull out a arcane ending where they rush everything like crazy and ruin a masterpiece.

This show is amazing. I am honestly willing to watch like an extra 10 years worth of content of the straw hats lives AFTER they get the one piece.

i’m currently on the big mom cake island arc and I’m getting kind of worried because it feels like I’m near the end of one piece. rant over

I mean, I know of folks that dropped the anime around Dressrosa because the pacing got significantly worse compared to before. Like yeah, the show has 1000 episodes but that doesn't mean the pacing of arcs remained the same throughout the entirety of the show. It's especially annoying if you read the manga and know exactly how much of your time is being wasted.

Nobody is going to quit around Nami's Arc because the problems that folk complained about weren't prevalent at that point and wouldn't be for a long time. The pacing of Arlong Park was fine. It's a highly rated arc.

Also, the quality of filler arcs has dropped too. I don't think Post-TS has a filler arc anywhere near the fun that G-8 arc was to watch.

Glad you love it! You stepped here into the realm of a ragefull fanbase. Don't worry, they bark a lot, but they are not that dangerous.

You are right, One Piece is amazing and while there are problems of pacing in the anime for a certain period (mainly due to still shots that take too much time and non necessary scenes). It's still watchable and the story is in itself amazing. In the manga, this is not really a problem.

This ragefullness is mainly due to fan experimenting One Piece week to week, which can become a frustrating task when people don't manage their expectations since Oda loves to subvert them. Add that the longness the anime and the fact it used to portray character with a bit less intensity than people wanted, and you get a bit of frustration. Don't worry tho, you are in a moment of the story where it's starting to evolve and in the next arc you will see big changes. You will soon have the impression of watching a movie.

Keep the love mate!

its a very different experience when you can binge through it instead of watching weekly.

when i rewatch one piece, i always use onepace where they cut the irrelevant non-canon bs
