Theory Imu is Joy Boy?! Joy/Sad Boy who became the God of Destruction

OK, part of this analysis I saw on Reddit, but I have my own ideas. I don't think that Imu is using someone else's body, but I believe Imu is Joy Boy. Just look at this:

Imu has the Straw Hat, it's not giant, but it suits his size. More to that, he keeps it in his special room

The cape symbol is Emeth's face with a bone cross

He wears pirate clothes and a similar belt.

Also, Nika has Spear, the same Spear that Imu is using.

Nika is known as Savior and God of Destruction. Why? Because Joy Boy from Savior became Evil Ruler.

He lost a battle not to someone else, but to grief, and became the opposite of what he represented. Oppression instead of liberation. It's not an uncommon trope for the liberator to slowly turn into the oppressor as they try to protect the freedom they initially won. And if Joyboy somehow became immortal in the process of liberating the world, he would have ample time to become the "bad guy".

And Haki worked on Imu, because ot reminded him of the other self.

In the D. Gray Man manga, Mana, who fought against the Earl, was actually the Earl. Joy Boy could lose himself in his Grief when he became Sad Boy. He hated himself so much that he started to believe that Joy Boy was another person.

This wouldn't be the first time in One Piece that characters suffer from psychological problems: Big Mom and Karamel, who forgot that she killed her mother, Doflamingo, who suffered a lot from nightmares of his past, and much more.

Also, this is really interesting, that Imu wants Vivi, and Vivi was the first princess that Luffy helped. She even became a member of the Straw Hat pirates.

It would be a nice contrast if Luffy, who is basically new Joyboy, doesn't go the same path when his journey is completed, and instead of becoming king of the world, just keeps on sailing.

Hmm, it is possible that Mu is the entitiy that took over Joyboy's body but the only caveat to this is Imu has a CD family name, which makes me think its actually his body that was immortalized
Maybe Imu is possessed, as you said, but then why didn't he destroy his Straw Hat?
Maybe Joy Boy won in the war, but lost it at the same time. Nika is known both as Savior and the God of Destruction. If JB fought against the previous Nika, then it could be a cycle. He won the War but became exactly what he fought against. The main question is why Nika became this Demon power? If Nika became Evil Nika in each cycle, then you need something other than just winning the war.

Im not sure about the hat yeah, but idk. We've gotten a few bits of lore surrounding Nika and Imu so I guess we can lay them out

- The Sun God has been described as both a Liberator and a Destroyer, but we've kind of seen that Loki seems to be the Destroyer in that claim. He calls himself the Sun God too, and while not accurate, Nidhogg is presumably tied to Nika lore anyway since they would fight each other. Not to mention, adding Luffy and Loki's current bounties makes 5.6 billion...so theres that.

- Imu on the other hand was introduced as the Devil. I (personally) think this power is in fact sepatate from Nika's but I do think that the Devil (true name or not) is Nika's real counterpart. That being the Earth God or the Serpent of Hellflame related to it. As you point out, Nika and Imu seem very similar, attire, hairstyle, etc. This is to me because they were from this earlier time period and I actually think Luffy hasnt unlocked his full potential as Nika yet, which might make him resemble Imu even more.

So yeah idk exactly how Joyboy, Imu and Nika relate but currently I do think they are all separate entities, just given that Imu calls Luffy Nika as well here. But we'll see, im not really confident in anything rn

It is possible but it complicates things so I don't think this is the case.
But this could even explain why Imu never wanted to really kill Luffy. He has that Straw Hat hidden in MJ, because it reminds him of his old dreams. Luffy is Nika...and Imu even if he hates the whole Nika idea, because Nika will bring the cycle of destruction, but at the same time it's inevitable.

This is what Gunko said.

Also in Elbaf, giants celebrate the Day of Sun Death and Resurrection. This is the Cycle when Old Sun dies, and New Sun is born.

From we can assume that Nika became evil because it's part of its nature, as well as Sun's rebirth.

So for Imu, Nika is just another Him. The Cycle
