Cell wasn't a perfect villain, I'll give you that, but he was at least interesting in his 1st form, and the whole time travel storyline was great. The fights were great, the story was great, the twist and turns were great, and Gohan taking on the mantle of the hero was an epic pay off that worked great narratively.

We can’t take DBZ too seriously, Toriyama wrote the entire cell saga chapter by chapter. Retroactive inclusions like supreme Kai’s who can one shot Frieza, universe 7 having 28 hospitable
Planets, Beerus, shouldn’t be scrutinized too much
