You know sometime I just wanna say "fuck it", leave this place and say "hate the story for all I care, you will simply waste one of the biggest experience of your lifetime because you never went farther than two or three storytelling missunderstood terms and two or three powerscaling OP tubers"...

It was never bad, you simply convinced yourself that it was. It's something that can really happen. Tastes are socialy constructed and can change based on opinions.

Technically, and I speak from a writing perspective as someone who really dived deep into trying to understand how it works: whole cake was incredible. Really amazing. I wish I could write something this beautiful. Yes, maybe a little bit long at the end, but the content is on freaking point from beginning to end.

I have no problem with talking positively about One Piece. I respect its longevity and Oda's dedication and ability to push out chapters on a pretty much weekly basis for literal decades. He created some pretty cool and memorable characters as well.


But it's not the best piece of literature lol, it's not the best manga, and it's not the best shonen either. It is what it is.

that's a little extreme
there are a lot of people who hate on one piece for very shallow reasons, but there's also a good chunk of them that are just tired of how poorly written the series has been throughout most of the timeskip
