yes it has some characterization here and there, but it's mostly just random fights happening
which is cool since it lets us finally see people like marco or sengoku in action, but besides that, marineford is a very dull arc

You the idiot who lies about other people words. I know you said mostly. I said there is a lot of story. So yea is not mostly fight. It is well balanced. There is the whole relationship between Whitebeard and their crew. His crew and Ace. Luffy and Whitebeard crew. Lots of interactions that give us how characters sees each other and acts. Squardo moment basically made Whitebeard my favorite character. We learned how Ace end up in his crew. How Teach betrayed them. There is Oars Junior...
