Lazy is the way
Daemon is great

but it’s difficult to compare him to the other great

What we know for sure : he is a great fighter by himself, with great experience (tourney, wars etc), a really capable military commander, cunning, ruthless, a top tier Dragon rider with a really strong Dragon

Obviously the man packs a punch and is overall an incredible asset for any army / kingdom. (Except he is a bit cray cray sometimes)

but it’s difficult to compare his direct fighting feats, CQC etc with others, and he doesn’t have insane CQC feats to his name.

He lost to Cole (who is also quite strong), and fight and kills many other no names. That’s it for now.

that doesn’t make him equal to the greatests

Not all baratheon is a top tier. We have no idea what he was like.
Was renly a top tier fighter too?

Magaor has more insane feats I would say
All Baratheon warrior men are top tiers bro. Even back in the day, they were humongous strong warriors, they were a lineage of kings.

And in particular the Baratheon Jahaerys had killed spent years fighting for the Dornish. He was definitely a top tier.

We are not getting the last two ASOIAF books, are we?

There are a lot of assumption here.
Also what about Renly and Stanis? They weren't top tiers or even big.

Renly was 6’2 and Stannis was 6’5 lol, they were both big guys. Renley in particular was said to look identical to a Robert. Sansa described Renly as the most beautiful man she had ever seen in GoT. Renly is, as far as I can tell, the shortest Baratheon we’ve ever heard of at 6’2. Lol

You have to gauge their actions in life/portrayal to gauge them as fighters. Rogar Baratheon was said to be a huge man who was muscled like a bull, weilded a double bladed axe into battle, was well respected across the realm for his prowess in battle, and dreamed of facing Maegor Targaryen in 1v1 combat. He boasted openly that he wanted to do this when Maegor was alive, and Rogar was an enemy of Maegor since he sheltered Jahaerys who Maegor wanted dead. Rogar literally in life did not fear Maegor Targaryen, one of the only lords of his day who openly rebelled against Maegor with zero fear.

Rogar’s younger brother (who Jahaerys killed) had personally fought in the Third Dornish War, and had many victories against rival groups until Jahaerys finally brought Vermithor into the battle. I feel like his relationship to his hugely strong and Chadlike brother, as well as his recorded history of victory in battle would definitely suggest that this guy was no joke, and Jahaerys killed him 1v1.

You’re right that simply being born a Baratheon doesn’t mean someone is a top tier or even a warrior, you have to look at their deeds and actions during life, and yes genetics do matter when we have no physical descriptions of someone, and this guy was a warrior Baratheon with a history of victory in battle lol. I highly, highly doubt the guy was anything less than a great fighter.

Fire and Blood: Chapter “A Surfeit of Rulers”

Old Sir Ellias tells a young King Jahaerys that if Maegor rose from the dead, he would bet on Jahaerys killing Maegor in combat

Jahaerys bested Roger Baratheon’s younger brother in 1v1 combat during the final battle of the Third Dornish War, Jahaerys nearly decapitated him with his final blow. The Baratheons back then were already huge strong men, Lord Roger famously stated multiple times during Maegor’s life that he wanted to fight and kill Maegor in single combat

And also Jahaerys at 55 years old fought and killed a 17 year old knight

Jahaerys Targaryen is HIM, people seriously need to discuss him more among the best Targaryen warriors

Ohk wait,
The dude Jaehrys was fighting was borys Baratheon, Frankly a no feat guy.
And jaeheys ended the fight in a single blow.
Just because he is Baratheon means he is strong like Robert Baratheon kind of people.

Borys was a knight and participated in tournament melees, and he had a known history of fighting in war, I don’t see why he wouldn’t have been a great warrior lol.

And again this is more about Jahaerys himself. You also had Ellias stating that Jahaerys would defeat Maegor. Jahaerys was taught how to fight by seven superb Kingsguard knights, and Jahaerys won both of the noted 1v1s that he fought in, one of them was when he was 55 fighting a 17 year old. Add into that that Jahaerys killed a veteran Baratheon knight 1v1 and this all paints the picture of Jahaerys being an excellent fighter.

Again this is all based under the impression of he was a monsterous fighter.
Which he was not, ser arlan also fought in tournaments and wars. I wouldn't call him a legendary knight at all.

Jaeharys was never regarded as a great warrior.
On top of that, when his master in arms said he could beat maegor now. Jaeharys was just 15 at that time.
Meanwhile Maegor is who you call a legendary fighter of his time, fought and won many duels.
Personally trained by or under visenya. Holder of dark sister which are only given to exception warriors like Visenya, Maegor, Daemon, Aemon, Blood raven.

He had two duels in his life, no tournament or anything. One was against a beesbury and other was against Borys baratheon which probablt wasn't even a fight, Jaeharys ended that very quickly in a single blow.
So either Borys was a low grade fighter or jaeharys was an exceptional fighter like hound or mountain or something given the feat. But that's not the case at all.

Overall he was an above average Fighter, really put his name beside the kind of Arthur dayne, Barristan, Jamie, loras, obrien, aemon, daemon blackfyre, daemon targaryen, criston cole, Maegor targareyan etc.

He was never of this caliber kind of fighter.
