Brazil indeed started well, but in the end Haaland destroyed them. It's simple
Yep. Brazil had no one to blame but themselves. Bruno missing that penalty sealed their fate and momentum for good (Vini should have taken it). Endrick and Casemiro failing to score from super easy chances were stupid, too. Rodrygo and Raphinha being injured also didn't help their case. Carletto also made the mistake of not using Martinelli as a sub and switching the mobile Rayan with the immobile Neymar (and the subs made too late, too, should have switched Bruno with Neymar or Ederson at least right after the break).

This feels like Brazil's most humiliating loss since the 7-1 against Germany in 2014. At least with France in 2006, Holland in 2010, Belgium in 2018, and especially with Croatia in 2022, you could tell the French, the Dutch, the Belgian, and the Croatian all had to bust their assess off to beat Brazil. Germany and Norway literally just no diffed Brazil outright. Heck, Norway even had time and energy spared to do their Vikings' Row celebration with their fans after the match, that's how easily they beat Brazil (again).

I do feel sorry for Neymar to be his generation's Cruyff or Zico, though, a GOATed player with no World Cup trophy under his belt.

Oh, well, no way even someone like Carletto could build a WC winning team with just a year on the job, anyway. With Neymar's generation over and done with, let's see what they can do at Copa America next. That will really show if Brazil is a contender to win in World Cup 2030, the 100th year of the World Cup, or become just another Uruguay.

If Argentina wins the world cup will Messi win Ballon d’or 9th in a row ? What do you guys think ?
It's hard to say

I remember this question being raised in few podcasts and there was this argument that no nation has won World Cup back to back since 1958.

It's nearly 70 years so if Messi wins back to back and he also ends up being top goal scorer then it doesn't matter what he did entire year at MLS or what anyone else did in the season - winning back to back WC and also being top goal scorer means he would be a top contender for Ballon D'or

Just sharing what was said in the podcasts and opinions of few football legends

It will be tight but if they go by champions league performance then Dembele wins it again.

But both Mbappe and Dembele werent doing good in their own clubs.

I still dont know how people vote players ? It never made sense to me ons player gets credited based on champions league performance.

If we go by purely world cup season then it will be Messi if he wins World cup again or Mbappe if France wins it.

Last time someone go b2B is 1958 & 1962

Yesterdays game was completely won on tactics, Tuchel planned this well ahead. He unsettled Mexican team in first half and played low block entire second half.

Subbing off Kane in dying minutes was such a Tuchel move if Gareth would have done that the media would flag him as shit manager.

Their criterias are very simple

Individual performances, Team achievements and Fair play.

Winning World Cup is big thing in footballing community. It's one of the rare trophy which every football players seeks. It's the biggest glory.

For instance, Modric edged Ronaldo in 2018 because he led Croatian to WC finals and also won Golden Ball award.

And, I think what they vote for is dominant performance by a player.

In non - WC year, it's straight forward.

But in a WC year, If a team wins WC and there hasn't been a dominant performance by one player who clearly stands out then they generally go with league performance.

Otherwise, they would go with that player who dominantly performed and led team in the WC campaign - atleast to the finals.

Winning back to back WC is rarest of rare case. So, this will take priority over anything

Subbing Kane was risky move.

If England would have conceded the goal in extra time and if match would have gone into pens then having Kane was must.

No one is calling that out because England won. If England would have lost the game especially in pens, then media would be all over Tuchel ass for subbing your top goal scorer and primary penalty taker out.

I've been incredibly harsh on Tuchel, but it was the right move tactically to kill off the game. It was not looking good if we got to extra time. 10 men were not keeping it together for another 30 mins.

England held off high intensity Mexico press with 10 men for 45 mins +

They could have done it for another 30 mins.

They needed someone in front to get them through whenever opportunity for counter attacks comes up or if match goes into pens.

Subbing Kane was risky move. It worked but it could have easily backfired as well
