The Neymar thing is really sad whenever I look back at my life.

I remember dudes was mimicking his skills and was signing tcha tcha. He was still just a wonder kid at Santos back then

Unlike many players, I saw both his rise and his downfall

Farewell , Neymar
Same. This might sound irrelevant, but I unsubscribed from his compilation channels on YouTube because watching his glory days felt hollow knowing how his career ended. Perhaps, despite being Brazil's all-time top scorer, Neymar is ultimately the greatest "What if" of modern football. The Zico of his time (though, not even Zico ended that sad).

Ofc, he can always be a competent coach in the future, but I think he is too heartbroken to ever do that.

I think it's nothing to do with Ronaldo Individual performance outside the WC but more to do with team future prospects. Portugal needs to come out of Ronaldo's shadow and build team around next gen.
I concur but will Ronaldo see things like that in 2029 if he is still playing at a level he judges good enough to be part of the national team.

If he doesn't win this WC, won't he try one last time at home?

And Portugal managers never says no to Ronaldo.

When Belgium loses it legally has to be partitioned to France & the Netherlands

we don’t need this artificial country anymore
It's a very weird and obvious buffer state.

Half French and half Dutch speakers

Half Catholic and half Protestant

Still couldn't agree for main language

Apparently this caused issues in the Belgium dressing room in supposed golden generation and they ended up not winning anything.

Norway had chances too. Odeegard almost scored
Bro every team creates and get chances to score (unless you are Paraguay - lmao)

Brazil had two pretty clear chances - a sitter missed by Endrick and pen miss by Bruno.

And, alongside players who didn't step up, I also blame Carlo for both. He subbed Endrick for Cunha and he was the one who went with Bruno when they had Vini to tak pens.

He only has himself to blame, honestly. Too much partying, alcohol, sex scandals, and self-defeating behavior. Most BR players suffer from that. If they were all like Cristiano (discipline-wise), we would be unstoppable.

They had decent number of chances to score but they fumbled it. You can argue they were simply not good enough and yeah it could be the reason.
Aside from making Rodrygo and Vini as good as or eve better than they are in Real Madrid and actually using Joao Pedro in the team, Carletto's challenge is finding a pure no. 9. Something Brazil never really had since Ronaldo Nazario 20 years ago (and Haaland showed twice against Brazil why having a proper striker is important).

Insane to think a country like Brazil could have a no. 9 drought almost as long as they have a World Cup title drought. Are there really no talent like this anymore in Brazil? Mind-boggling.

I think he will take retirement like Neymar did. Maybe after this WC or after Euro but his phrasing was pretty clear last night - "Yes, it’s my last one. Let go and enjoy it."

Ronaldo doesn't make such statements evident from him refusing to give time frame when he will retire. He said "I will retire when I want, not when you want"

Literally made by the English to keep the Germans from being a player in the channel.

Norway did an offside goal in 10 minutes of game. Haaland almost scored twice, Odeegard almost scored but shotted bad. Both teams had oportunities, the difference is Norway is a calm team and felt comfortable after the first goal, after the second goal they were laughing.

Ancielott felt desperate and added Endrick and Neymar, but the truth is, Ancielott's tatics doesn't fit with Brazil and this has been pretty clear since Morrocos.

He's the last player of his kind.

Everyone plays like they are robots to fit in tactical system nowadays

He's still legendary though and have cult status especially in Brazil.

And sad thing about Neymar's legacy is his career basically the reason why coaches don't allow that kind of street skill anymore.

Too high risk and low efficiency.

@Tyki_Mikk @Reborn brazil last eliminations...

Brazil loses to France in 2006
Brazil loses to Netherlands in 2010
Brazil loses to Germany in 2014
Brazil loses to Belgium in 2018
Brazil loses to Croatia in 2022
Brazil loses to Norway in 2026

Which European will be the next to eliminate Brazil in 2030? Lol
I genuinely wonder if Brazil meets a team like Sweden or Czechia in 2030 elimination rounds, Brazil will still lose anyway due to debuffs and curses.

'But.....but....he's won Champions League"

"But.....but.....he'll save Brazil"

:milaugh:
To be fair, not even Carletto could build a World Cup winning team in just a year after so many years of scandals and chaos in Brazilian football, tbh.

You aren't getting my point. One can miss chances, one can get goals called offside but one simply don't miss sitters - let alone two of them in a knock out match where there's little room to make mistakes.

Football isn't so forgiving.

This is just me, but not once I felt throughout the World Cup that Carletto thought he could win this cup. Genuinely, at times, it felt as if he was experimenting to see what worked and what didn't for the coming years, namely 2030.

He already said he isn't leaving after the Norway loss, and I doubt CBF has enough firepower to kick him out after practically begging for his attention since 2023. That it to say, this 2026 Brazil team is at best an impromptu team.

I genuinely look forward to how he works with Brazil given proper time. Starting with the next Copa America, a Brazil after Jogo Bonitover.

Sometime you'll mess, this is inevitable
Yeah! And, they paid the consequences.

If even one of those two would have gone inside, entire game could have been different.

I am not just talking about scorelines here but mentality. Football is mentally and emotionally demanding as much as it's physical.
