That’s due to the size of the venues. The NBA cant compete in that regard. Switch it to viewership and it probably plummets hard.
still, my point is the audience exist and is big enough. There should be alot more talent coming out of here
Kids don’t really feel the sport growing up. When you go to any other country in Europe, South America, or even Mexico you start feeling how culturally heavy soccer is for them.

that just simply doesn’t happen here.
idk, growing up we all played soccer until kids started dropping it for Football or Cross Country due to overlapping seasons.

It’s not the same. I spent all my summers back there. What the sport means for these kids is unlike anything you see here. That passion can’t be manufactured.

there is still a lot of love for soccer here, just for other teams not named the US, and with many rooting for the teams they immigrated from

I got exposed to Soccer from Elementary and Intermediate school, but once you got to High School, if you were not on the Varsity team, that was pretty much the end of any Soccer unless you had a real tight group of friends that cared about Soccer, and it was usually Basketball or Football

My school didn't even have a freshman soccer team lmao. It was just JV and Varsity and it was really hard to make it as a freshman. atp I just played football lol

Basketball and Football have paywalls as well and we don't lack talent there tho. I do agree that there's no more working class sports nowadays. Basketball used to be the last one but nowadays if your kids arent going to camps they are screwed

maybe baseball in countries like venezuela and dr
Yeah for whatever reason people are willing to put up with arguably more inconvenience with those sports. I wonder if it's that they're easier in some way, but I've never played enough of any to feel comfortable comparing
