However, Ronaldo is highly unlikeable. He diminishes everything he doesn't win or achieve.
When he was winning Ballon D'or more in a row, it had value but when Messi won more, BDR suddenly became meaningless.
Same thing with other awards - when he stopped winning them, they became useless or blamed Fifa.
And, now he says, Winning Euro is as significant as World Cup - he once again diminished the WC because he hasn't won one.
He does the same with Portugal team - he takes entire credit for their win, diminishes Portugal teams history before him but no blame whenever they losses the game.
He diminishes other players achievements as well like he mocked Pele goal scoring record.
Heck, he blames entire world by saying they were targetting him and were after him.
You, me and everyone else knows - Portugal had one of the best mids right now.
But Ronaldo, manager and Ronaldo fans expected entire Portugal team to kowtow Ronaldo to feed him the ball everytime when he's neither in his prime nor plays any any role in build up of the momentum.
Winning matches matter more than satisfying one man's ego and unfortunately, Portugal management gave more priority to Ronaldo than to the team.
Martinez by consistently catering to Ronaldo (obviously he has say in this) has sabotaged this team.
