Don't think Sanji will ever become a King of Germa :p but I can see people following him and referring to him as one even if he outrights rejects the title. A way the Germa ting could work though is if Reiji becomes Queen and decides that the only true King of Germa is Sanji and decides to follow him but Sanji outright rejects it even though Germa is techincally under him ^^

I do like Uncrowned/Crownless King. If we’re relating to germa, what about Sora no Ou or “Empty King” or in relations to Germa containing nothing and obviously the double meaning of using his mother’s name.

One of the most consistent messages in One Piece is that we don't get to choose the circumstances of our births, but we do get to choose our family.

Sanji still recognises his birth family, but he doesn't consider himself as a Vinsmoke, and that's not as complicated as some make it seem.

Fam I think I've broken the code on the route Oda's gonna take with Sanji's CoC, which imo is the most organic route for his character.

Was watching Kamiki's vid (a Japanese YTber, most likely a Zoro fan so not a fan of all his takes, has a bit of bias in my opinion, though he does try to be neutral tbf to him). Anyways he was talking about Sanji's potential moniker after awakening CoC and mentioned something I thought was really interesting, which is that the Kirin is a mythological creature that's said to appear before the coming or birth of a great king. Which is wild given Sanji is quite literally fighting Killingham, a Kirin and is right on the verge of unlocking CoC.


So I did a bit of digging and turns out this Kirin lore has strong ties to Confucius. The story goes that right before Confucius was born, a Kirin appeared to his mother, either spitting out or being found with a jade tablet in its mouth bearing a prophecy that she'd give birth to a "throneless king," a sage of unmatched virtue who'd never actually hold royal power. And that's basically exactly what happened. Confucius never held a throne in his life, yet he's one of the single greatest figures in Chinese history, arguably shaped Chinese and East Asian civilization more than any actual emperor did.

Long story short, I can't help but feel this maps onto Sanji almost perfectly. Someone with real kingly qualities who never actually vies for the throne, never wants the crown, runs from his own bloodline's legitimacy even. So even more than Mao, King of Sky, or King of Love, I think Sanji's moniker might end up being something like "Uncrowned King."

We can have a nuanced argument on this debate famalam :p
We aren't a monolith and I think that is the healthy place to be in tbh ^^
These kind of disagreements prevents us from living in delulu land like a certain la section of a certain fanbase lol
Personally for this argument I always say that what the narrative is telling you is most likely the most accurate depicition of PLs as opposed to perceived interpetations of certain feats. In the first place Oda is a hype merchant and not very consistent with PLs so leaning to heavlly on perceived feats will only come around to bite you in the ass. That's not to say to completely ignore feats as your actions have to back up what the narrative is saying btw but I lean more towards narrative scaling and narrative scaling has Zoro at 2 and Sanji at 3 with Zoro just edging it.

Narrative aside though atm, just stack-wise and looking at physicals alone, Sanji mogs Zoro and even more so now that he's unlocking CoC you can legit make an argument for Sanji > Zoro. Sanji is bascially being built like Kaido and Linlin right now. Insane physicals and even Hax be it Dura wise or even AP wise with PoL and then now we adding CoC mastery on top of that shit. Not to mention Sanji's intelligence stat is also pretty high.

But for every Kaido and Linlin you have a Shanks, who I'd argue is stronger than both even with stacks they both have. So Sanji's getting a lot love atm tbh but I wouldn't sleep on Zoro.

ehh i think that you're very biased on this but i do think you bring up some interesting points
people really underestimate sanji and never truly bother to look at his feats with a more nuanced view
98% of the fights he's in involve him being at some type of disadvantage but still managing to win it despite that
i.e his fight against kuroobi where he was forced into the water for most of it, and he blew into kuroobi's gills to force him up and wreck him on land
shows that he's both clever and strong in just a few pages

If Sanji gets a king epithet, I’d like it to be "Sky King". It fits his fighting style and it’d be a nice nod to his mother. But sadly, it’ll probably be "King of Love". I’ve always find the whole love theme cringe, but it is what it is. I don’t know why Oda likes this shit.

Sanji turning Germa Kingdom into a mobile restaurant traveling the world is a great idea and I’ve always had that in mind too. He could dedicate his life to feeding people and have the Germa clones work as waiters, serving people instead of being killing machines existing to fight wars.

The name of the restaurant could be "Seven Heavens", as both a subtle nod to his mother and the symbol of Germa 66’s rebirth under Sanji’s leadership.
