Argentina in finals is harder to beat.
That explosive 2014 Germany after defeating Brazil 7-1, won 1-0 after 120 mins of play against Argentina in finals. Thanks to Higuain blunder
This Argentina team is atleast better than 2014 team. They have scored more goals than even France in this WC so far. They are also clutch and have mentality and intent to play and win under pressure. If Argentina plugs gap in their defenses then having them in finals would be a nightmare
So is it out of revenge for 2022 WC final? Is it to get even with Argentina?

There's a difference between being a hunter and being hunted. Argentina were hunters in the last WC and now they are being hunted.
Being the WC champion means everyone would bring their "A game" against you and to knock you out.
Knocking reigning WC champion out has always been a big deal. More so for weaker teams as it amounts to a historical moment for them. They will bring their best to knock WC champions out and we saw that in Argentina knock out matches so far. Verde, Egypt and Swiss played their best.
Argentina realised what's being hunted feels like in their knockout matches. Argentina's "A game" isn't enough anymore. They have to step up because England would come hunting them as well.
"A game" worked for Argentina last WC but time they need "A+ game" against England and in final to win.
It's exactly because of this difference - being a hunter in one WC and if wins then being hunted in the next WC, no one won WC back to back in last 65 years.

It's a really valid perspective. It's pretty clear Argentina got a rising in the 4 years, they won WC and won Copa América, but even more they have the most influent football player currently with them. Messi legit became the leader of Argentina, so other teams doesn't view Argentina as another big team, they view them as Messi's team, so for them defeat Messi's team is everything. Pretty good point.
Yeah! Switzerland players before their QF match against Argentina were talking about how privileged they are to play against Messi and WC champion.
Even after losing their match against Argentina, many Switzerland players posted pictures of them playing against Messi on their insta accounts. We saw this with Verde as well.
You can see something similar with Spain players showing desire to play finals against Argentina. France showing desire to play finals against Argentina.
Italy won the WC in 2006, but were knocked out in group stages in 2010.
Spain won it in 2010, but were knocked out in group stages in 2014.
Germany won the WC in 2014, but were knocked out in the group stages in 2018.
France won the WC in 2018, and then lost to Tunisia in the group stages in 2022 WC.

It's more so that other teams brought their best because they were playing against the WC champion and arguably the greatest player of all time. I mean knocking Messi and WC champion would always be world wide headline and it was an opportunity for other teams to make a name for themselves.

Infact, Argentina is the only team in last 66 years to reach semi finals as a reigning WC champion without losing a match.
In last 66 years, Not only no team won WC back to back but also no WC champion made it to semis undefeated. Either they were knocked out early or lost a match in group stages.
