Tbh, I think it was tactical blunders from Deschamps. His tactics didn't work and France had no backup plan or anyone experienced enough on field to adapt.
There are 3 specific things which Spain did whole match and France had no response to it.
1) Spain consistently had Mbappe in offside trap.
2) Spain mid controlled the tempo of the game and cut off passes from French mid. A situation kind of like what happens with Portugal.
3) Minor tactical fouls. Whenever France tried to transition and press, Spain tried to have tactical foul. Very effective because it hardly gets punished and at the same time breaks transition.

Well Fifa is considering expanding the next WC to 64 teams.
They are under pressure because S.America wants more matches to host in the next WC as they feel it should be their turn to have a WC hosting rights.
As of now, S. America only has few opening matches and then WC will shift to Spain, Portugal and Morocco which is not going down well with S. America so the solution they figuring out is to have 64 teams WC lmao
