The problem is your putting Mihawk’s importance over the wss title’s importance

It doesn’t matter who the wss is as long as Zoro surpasses them

• If Shiryu killed Mihawk than that automatically makes him more important
• If it’s revealed a character unknown to the world like a gorosei or a brand new admiral etc is actually stronger than Mihawk they become more important
• If s-hawk reaches his prime it’s automatically more important

Whether the strawhats even fight cross guild is still up in the air

Also we have undeniable proof that even in Whitebeard’s case his title doesn’t apply to characters unknown to the world. Mihawk isn’t an exception to the rule just because Zoro wants to be the wss. All it means is Zoro might have to fight someone stronger

If it’s possible to believe Mihawk is stronger than Whitebeard despite his title what’s the difference in believing Shanks is stronger than Mihawk despite his?

Yeah Shanks can be stronger than Mihawk, especially with Oda's writing

- WSM himself stated he can't be the strongest forever
- Luffy defeating and becoming stronger than WSC since his victory but not becoming/called/titled WSC
- Kaidou imagining Shanks (alongside Xebec and Roger themselves) as Luffy's ceiling but not Mihawk
- Kaidou saying Roger is peak while swordsman Roger is PK not WSS
- Kaidou saying Roger is peak due to haki not sword, give clear distinction between the two
- Loki and even Imu himself don't have strongest title
- Mihawk superior than Shanks in swordsmanship
- Shanks being called child of destiny, some absurd title
- Shanks haki being compared to Joy Boy (this is the new but very strong reasoning)

I think Shanks can be (and is more likely to be) stronger than Mihawk, but i don't think Shanks can be the strongest

Shanks isn't the World's Greatest Swordsman because having only one arm limits him. He can't wield a two-handed sword or have a saber in each hand, or use a secondary item like a shield or a pistol.
