It varies. I’m 95% southern European genetically but i wasn’t born in Europe. I see myself as Colombian/american.
You live in America though. Civic identity and all that (if you understand the concept?)

Meanwhile, the Argentines heavily identify with their European heritage. Just a cultural thing. I respect it.

Well lot of Nazi SS went into hiding in Argentina .
Yeah, I didn't wanna say that outright because it has been used by many to say 'Argentina bad' which I think is pretty ridiculous. It's not like they were colonised again, lol.

If memory serves, they're abnormally high in European genetics for a former colony. I mean, didn't the Germans also go over there in the recent past? Kind of makes sense.
they engineered it that way. They sent their black population to the frontlines of a massive war (tbf brazil did as well) and then they encouraged massive european immigration like the U.S

Then... they're basically European if that's the case? They're not exactly lying.

White americans have more of a claim to being European. Argentines are still mixed.
I respect Americans who wish to identify as Europeans too. Ofc, those of actual European descent. Just like I respect Americans who identify as African.

Europeans don't hate Argentina really. I think everyone wants to see the former champions toppled (at least it is a common mindset).

They appreciate their roots. I respect that. They have pride in their heritage. Good on them.

If the rest of Europe shit on England, I'd still acknowledge our European heritage. It's obvious.
Spaniards call Latin Americans "Sudacas"; it's a slur used to insult Latin Americans. Portuguese are also very hateful towards Brazilians. Americans and English have good relationship with each other, despite the independence stuff, but Spain and Portugal do not have such a relationship with their former colonies (and it goes both ways), which is a shame because we are tied by both bloodties and cultural ones.

It is what it is. I try to not be hateful towards people I don't know personally, but its kinda hard not to when you are greeted with hate for no reason. I hated my 2016 trip to Portugal, and have no intention of returning despite having many relatives that are 200% Portuguese.

Hear it also happens to non-mainland Chinese people.

Only culture I've ever heard of it not turning out that way is Korean (my wife being an example of this).

You're basically brothers, that's not on. I love my Anglo-Americans.
