Penalty is part of the match.

Second, yes I didn't watch the match but I can tell atleast one thing for sure - France lacking motivation doesn't hold true when England were in the same situation.

Both lost semis and didn't want to play third place play-off.

Both teams went with their best possible XI and wanted to win.

For France winning matters because it was last match for Deschamps and they definitely would have preferred giving winning farewell to him. A manager who led France in 26 WC matches.

It won't help much.

64 teams means we will have more groups.

This WC we had 12 groups. Two teams directly qualified from each group and 8 best third ranked teams qualified for R32.


With 64 teams, we will have 16 groups, two teams directly qualify from each group for R32.

So only difference would be 4 additional groups and their matches

"I can understand those who say we didn't respect the shirt... I would say instead that we were human. Unfortunately, we were completely stunned by England in the first half. They gave us a proper wake-up call.

In the second half, we went back to being top level. In the end, we didn't win and that's a shame. We wanted to do something for the Deschamps.

Scaloni - Everything about Spain worries me. My Coaching staff have spent months analysing everything about Spain since December.

Who knew that preparation for Spain vs Argentina Finalissima match which got cancelled would come handy for a WC final between them.
