Agents and teams here kinda only give a fuck about making bank selling players to anywhere that pays well enough. Brazil's entire roster ever since the post 2010 Cup consists more in calling players to increase their revenue value for post Cup rather than actually building something to win.
A lot of people, myself included, believe that this 2026 edition was "sacrificed" in order to have a last shot of exploiting Neymar's image for profit and make bank for some players (raphinha was said to be having huge financial issues, so there was hope he was gonna get offered to some saudi team like neymar was, among others). So Ancelotti kinda accepted this deal in the exchange that he would get more authority for the 2030 cycle.

But the part that CBF uses the national team as a mere negotiation table is nothing new and quite well known here.
