Younger and stronger Gaban already displayed inability to put down HK Harald who is much weaker than Imu . His Haki is simply not there to compete and trade blows with Imu , he himself admitted Imu has strongest haki he ever felt.

Nothing he can do now that would not shit on already established powerscaling hierarchy.

Well in theory it should, but realistically Loda has no balls.

The needed a big time lose- pre-TS (Sabaody) and now a big time lose post-TS (Elbaph).

I'm i think gaban will hold imu off for probably most of the chapter or chapters. Gunko will wake up tell them how to get rid of imu then before gaban is killed they will get rid of imu. Either gaban will hold him off or luffy or loki will recover and help gaban hold imu off till he can be forced off the island. Something along this line imu will be the next few chapters.
