Neji was right. Cope with it :cryabit:
Neji was right. Cope with it :cryabit:
Neji was not right, this is just an attempt to undermine the narrative of Naruto, there would be a case for Neji being correct if a particular moment didn’t exist, except it does, immediately disproving Neji’s beliefs in a single stroke.

Neji was wrong, because if he weren’t, Naruto would have fought Sasuke, and killed him to continue the cycle of hatred

Also Naruto was not about hard work either or else Rock Lee wouldn’t become a cripple to Gaara low diff.

People get hung up on the Child of Prophecy thing and forget how it was resolved. The old sage toad identified both Nagato & Naruto as "Children of Prophecy", something he didn't foresee.

The prophecy was about Jiraiya's student leading a shinobi revolution but clearly the how's, who's and why's were all malleable to the character's journey. To the point where the prophecy giver didn't realize there was a whole second person attached to it.

Asura reincarnate business really doesn't come into play, to Naruto's native abilities, until he has all the bijuu chakra & meets his progenitor to get a bonus seal. Compare Naruto to Hashirama and you see how wildly different they are skill wise, being a reincarnate does not give you the skills to be a top tier off the start.

Nah it’s that Naruto was born a literal reincarnation of a Demi god of ninja and was destined to be one of the most powerful ninja ever because of it. And neji was destined to kill himself for the heir of the hyuga clan despite him saying he wants to leave that fate. So much for Naruto’s “circumstance of birth doesn’t define your life” ideology.

That wouldn't be a retcon though, just bad writing lol

Because nardo was neglected most of his childhood. And because of the seal affecting his ability to properly control his own chakra, he didn't get to use and develop any skills on his own either.
Being the reincarnation gave him insane amounts of chakra. If he didn't have the seal, he'd be skillful too.

When the entire story’s themes change because of a random plot that comes out of nowhere, I think that’s a retcon.
I feel that Kishimoto kept true to the themes by having Naruto be an reincarnation that broke the mold.

That might be what he was going for.

That Naruto was destined to be enemies with Sasuke but he proved Neji wrong by putting an end to their spiritual rivalry, something that (according to Neji) shouldn't have been possible.

Naruto being a reincarnate doesn’t influence his power until he meets Hagoromo though. Everything he’s done since then was on his own merit and ideology built off his own journey

I’m pretty sure the bolded is fanon and not canon. Naruto was just genuinely a terrible shinobi and didn’t practice chakra control techniques extensively until the Immortal Invasion arc.

Uh being a reincarnate did not guarantee him large amounts of chakra. Being a Jinchuuriki did. Compare Naruto—who at the start of Shippuden had as much chakra as a 30% clone of Kisame—to Hashirama.

who outright says he has more chakra than the Kyuubi.

He wouldn’t be below Hashirama in chakra quantity if he was both blessed with large chakra reserves as a reincarnate and Jinchuuriki with the Kyuubi’s chakra mixed in with his own.

It shows he’s always been destined to be that god level of power. It completely invalidates everything he said to neji about people choosing their own destiny.
No, it was his own choices that took him there. If Naruto didn’t learn under Jiraiya, learn & accept pain from Nagato and spare him, he never would’ve been able to take the kyuubi’s power for KCM and eventually befriend him and the other Bijuu.

More of his power can be attributed to his ideology which comes from Jiraiya than destiny. We even see destiny being malleable with the “Children of the prophecy” blindsiding the guy who gave the prophecy in the first place.

It's obviously Naruto. This manga started of good and then became a complete mess.

Naruto was portrayed as a nobody who's hated by everyone, is not so gifted and has zeal to prove himself through perseverance

Then Naruto is revealed to be Minato's son, an Uzumaki, Kurama's jinchuriki, and Asura's reincarnation, while Sasuke is Indra's reincarnation.

One can understand a bit of element of surprise here and there but this goes beyond that.

And, there's so much about Itachi, Sharingan, Kaguya that Naruto become just a mess

People have to understand that while you could make a case to call Gear 5 a retcon, it doesn't mean it is bad.

In fact, in this case, it's amazing.

Technically, you could call it a retcon, I usually don't do that because this fanbase do not understand the positive advantages of retcon and associate it with a negative tool, but it is a proper storytelling if used correctly.

In this case...
hich was never implied at any point during the earlier part of the story.
It was. Many time. The imagery of the sun, but also the warping of reality and toonish ability has been depicted quite a lot in the story.
