@John Akainu @Shiroyru @Sir Yasheen y'all mock me for saying oda doesn't care about scaling and probably never did, but honestly when you look back on the series you realize my take is objectively correct and has been for a very long time (in fact i'm kind of ashamed i only realized it now)
injured guernica who was at like 30% of his health max shouldn't have endured an acoc attack from amped up hybrid kaido at all, let alone long enough to take a picture of luffy's nika form
Pell should've died from the bomb
It didn't really make sense for carrot and wanda to be straight up beating perospero in a fight even if they were both sulong
kidd and law should not have been even close to defeating big mom when their haki compared to her's was basically nonexistent
so on and so forth
Nah the point is you only say that because your opinion on certain characters were wrong. And rather than just take the L you decided to basically flip the table and say oda changed the rules

The Seraphim really are just such a dumb plot point on so many levels.

For starters, they’re painfully uninteresting and feel like filler. They also open up a whole can of worms.

1. Why are there only 7 of them? Why are there not more batches of Seraphim in production? Sure, they should be very costly, but nothing in Egghead even suggested that they were planning to produce even more Seraphim.

2. Why did the WG choose to clone the 7 OG Warlords? Why not clone the Admirals, who are way more powerful than every Warlord except Mihawk? Heck, why not just make 7 Mihawk Seraphim clones since the WG clearly knows Mihawk is a cut above the other Warlords?

3. Why doesn’t Imu just make all of them into HKs? They’re hard wired to obey the Gorosei (who are completely loyal to Imu) above all else, so their loyalty shouldn’t even be in question (not that it would even matter since HKs physically can’t disobey Imu). Prime Adult Seraphim will clearly be massively stronger than Base HKs, so why not amp them even further with a Deep Sea Pact buff and access to Omen?

4. Who are they even supposed to fight at EoS? A Warlords vs Seraphim matchup would be pretty lame tbh, but if Oda wants to go in that direction, then why did Jinbe show 0 interest in his own fucking clone during Egghead? They also wouldn’t really make much sense as SH matchups. I guess they could fight the 7 EoS SHGF Division Commanders, but genuinely who gives a fuck?

They also show just how poorly thought out Lunarian abilities are. Why would any Lunarian ever turn their flames off and trade nigh invulnerability for a slight speed boost? It really does feel like they were a spur of the moment decision by Oda. He was just thinking it would be cool to create a fusion of King, Queen, and the 7 Warlords. They’re all style, no substance

Just a Rule of Cool insert, nothing deeper than that.
Would it be cool if these fan favorite characters could return in an upgraded capacity? Voila, white haired child soldiers. Just like Kony 2012.

They’re pretty much the just One Piece equivalent of Edo Tensei. “Wouldn’t it be cool if all these super powerful dead characters were brought back at full strength, and were also granted endless regen and infinite chakra because fuck it why not?”

Though they’re arguably even worse than Edo Tensei because at least characters brought back with Edo Tensei got to retain their personalities, and were actually a much needed addition to the villain’s roster to make the war more balanced, while the WG is already stacked enough

As you said, if there was any thought put into the concept, then at the very least they would've made 7 Mihawks.
Or use the data of the Admiral that is already a test subject and make 7 Kizarus.
The execution of the Seraphim becomes more stupid the more time you dedicate to think about it.

1. You literally answered your own question. Because one Pacifista Mk. 1 costs the same as a GL-class Battleship, the Mk. III even more so, so they probably cost like 50 of them.

2. Because Vegapunk can't fully replicate Logia powers, which all three had. S-Gator probably has something like Smoothie's power, or a lesser version of his own. Plus, the fear aspect of them. Like Kuma being the base for a legion of soulless enforcers.

3. Judging from Harald's death, creating a new Covenant bearer isn't just something he can do en masse, and is costly to him. Especially seven more.

4. They'll probably be programmed by Devon as Saturn to fight for Blackbeard.

"It's not that i was wrong on claiming Kinnemon having better AP than Doffy, it's Oda who doesn't care about powerscaling"
A character having higher AP than another doesn't mean they're stronger than them. Powerscaling isn't simply who has the heaviest attacks, yknow.
It was him saying the old legends are weaker than G3 Luffy.
I thought I said they were an extreme diff for Boundman Luffy?
Nah the point is you only say that because your opinion on certain characters were wrong. And rather than just take the L you decided to basically flip the table and say oda changed the rules
Old injured Gaban shouldn't push Imu to a mid-high diff lol. I don't care if it's "old legend hype" or whatever, it's just objectively shitty writing when Imu was portrayed as such a powerful villain
Gaban himself said that Imu's Haki was unlike anything he had ever seen before, yet that ultimately didn't matter, because Oda just wanted to make a scene where Gaban looked cool. Unfortunately, that was at the expense of all the hype that Imu had built up for years. And this chapter only made it worse. But like I said, Oda is Oda, so what can you expect from him? A better writer obviously would have been more consistent and not so reliant on hype moments and aura

I'd rather have Imu be really strong, but take attacks and keep fighting instead of being totally invincible and reacting things with bored disinterest, truth be told.

Nah you claimed Garp would lose to G3 Luffy post Wano.

Sure, but again, the issue is Oda sort of portrayed Imu as someone who'd be considerably above Roger, especially if he's meant to be the final villain. Him mid diffing Loki and low diffing Luffy before was also likely intended to be proof of how overwhelmingly strong he is compared to all the characters we've seen before.
But then old Gaban came in..

Pretty sure I had bumped it to Boundman at some point.

I myself don't really feel that vibe myself, but to each their own. But also, he literally defeated Gaban in one chapter. Like Luffy came in with the big entrance without a Gear...and then lost the next chapter. And then Gaban came in with the big entrance...and lost the next chapter.

Imu low-diffed Gaban, like calm tf down 😂😂😂
Wasn’t paying attention the entire chapter, then beat him with one attack. Gaban’s attacks were ultimately negligible, Imu has 0 wounds again. Plus, Imu is nerfed.
