To the OP, I don't really care if Gaban is Sanji's parallel or not, but I do love the chapter where he gave an earful to Luffy. He still tries to protect and save him, but he made Luffy think harder than anyone lately. That was Gaban's best scene imo, not the fight with Imu. I also like how he takes care of his family and how he was kind of a father figure to young Shanks as well. But I understand that others like aura farming more, and also young Ray got a rare feat of not being smitten by Shakky the hottest. He has a dedicated fan base and I am glad he got quite high on the polls.

Yeah, Gaban's role in the story feels a bit redundant when Rayleigh showed up 100s of chapters ago. Oda kind of knew this and has kept him more so in the background of the arc as opposed to being the actual star like Rayleigh was in Sabody. He's still pretty cool though

you are a zorotard, so you assign more relevance to Rayleigh. Gaban and Rayleigh have similar roles, just in different arc. Give some exposition, have some cool moments, save strawhats from a strong villain.
