The proof is - the weapon is as strong as person's haki.
DR Rocks was never scratched until the all or nothing combo while Imu is scratched by everything, combos arent even needed.

Not a bit older or more knowledgeable than founding Figarland king which could be passed down to Garling one way or a other...
Even if the knowledge can be passed down, Imu still has an insane amount of knowledge relating to the world and lore from the 800 years since the Void Century.

No reason to think every single king was seemingly friends with Joyboy too lol

>Imu negs/low diffs everyone in his weaker form
>Gets his ass kicked after powering up into a stronger form

:luuh:
That is the problem to be honest.
In terms of tension and pacing, it’s really poorly handled. When a villain unveils a new form, they’re portrayed as overpowered; they shouldn't be made to look like a joke in that very same chapter. It completely kills the tension and seriousness when the final villain, in his new form, gets humiliated by Hajrudin. The problem isn't even that Hajrudin and the others are getting these feats, but if they do, it should be against the weaker version, the one that was already capable of destroying everyone.

From a writing standpoint, it’s very poorly executed. The form upgrade was so random and even then it was so meangless since it seems to not be make any difference...

Since the Figarland bloodline, and others too, survived since before Void Century, it is plausible that knowledge has been passed down.
Not saying they were friends with Joyboy and not like it matters, since Joyboy is long gone... As I said, Imu is replaceable, easily.

What is Oda even doing with this Imu fight? and why is Usopp being shoehorned into this scenario to sell us farts and rainbows lol
What even was the point of Gaban scolding Luffy goofy ass if we are just gonna say "bun all that and let's keep doing what we doing"? what is Oda smoking? It feels like he has no clue what he's doing with this fight and is just stallng on the hope that Imu hits is time limit and has to leave.

With Sanji and Zoro's fights we have a clear goal and direction with regards to what Oda's tryna do and can see the potential for growth with both against their opponents but all of that shit is inexistent with the Imu fight. How does Luffy even grow from this fight with the way Oda's writing this fuckery? Gets put on death's door and his saved from getting merked and then scolded to do better but Oda just having this man try again without learning anything and just have Imu job instead lol. Way this is going there is literally nothing tangible we getting from this except let's throw shit at the wall and hope Imu hits his time limit. I also have no idea what he's saving Loki's hybrid for. If the end goal is to drive Imu off Elbaf why not have Loki use his hybridi exhaust Imu by forcing him to us more energy than he would like then you add the HK getting merked on that and then have Luffy contribute with the final blow through some nika fuckery or something? Don't understand why he's wasting our bloody time with these stalling antics

Oda doesn't understand fight power scaling.
Hybrid Kaido vs. Base Luffy, for example.
Unless Luffy gains more power and the opponent stays in their hybrid form, the fight ends up being nothing more than cheap fanservice.
It’s not that Imu’s new form is weak; the problem is that Oda has that same form take hits from a weaker Luffy, yet it’s the very same form that faces Luffy again after he’s gained a new power-up.

Luffy’s fights basically go like this:
An enemy appears => Luffy loses => Enemy gained new power => Luffy injuries the enemy => Luffy loses => Luffy gains a new power => The fight becomes balanced, and then it concludes.

"this is going to be a sabaody moment"- imu tards
"final villain" imu wont even be in the final 3 villains
The final villain is going to be the guy who ran from Shanks at Marineford, ran from Akainu, ran from Rayleigh, and needed Law's help to defeat Ochoku—and his crew's help to defeat Law.

Meanwhile, even Rocks, Shanks, and Gaban know they can't stand against Imu—but sure, go ahead and believe that "Fatbeard" will be the final villain.

Fatbeard, the pirate who ran away from the most fights

Luffy got defeated by Buggy and Ceasar, ran away like a b*tch fom Vice Admirals in Enies Lobbies.
Blackbeard is just going through a similar journey as Luffy and getting stronger, instead of being an ancient enemy from the past already at its peak.

Imo Oda is trying to do 2 opposite things:
1- We have the whole inherited will thing passed down in history, etc, etc, etc, prophecy, whatever, and it culminates with Roger saying he was too early and someone would surpass them, gaban calling shanks "child of destiny", which indicates he thought shanks would be the person to do it, and shanks betting on Luffy to do it, since he ate the nika fruit. This "final payoff" thematic is present since chapter 1.

2- He read all the pirate jesus memes online and got pissed about it, so he tries to force down our throats that Luffy isn't some messiah and does things because he chooses to. Despite the whole "destiny" thing, ultimately, Luffy's "freedom of choice" is, at least, as important.

In theory, it could work. Luffy's own motivation doesn't need to be tied to the bigger picture, but, imo, Oda's not doing a good job at it at all.
It feels very, VERY cheap.
Also, Usopp saying things like they dont care about "even Roger" is insane.

Luffy basically has Roger as a goal. Luffy wanted to visit the place where Roger was executed in Loguetown. Oda made everyone and their mother see Roger in Luffy. Luffy has the same secret dream as Roger. Now it's "we dont care about Roger"? Give me a break.
Remember Robin in Skypie? saying that only fools would disregard history?

Trying to go "it's 100% all Luffy" is insane. xD
