This fight feels all over the place.
Luffy should be down yet he's fighting as if nothing happened a few chapters ago.
I can't see Luffy, Loki et al. defeating Imu at this point either, even though Imu is taking huge ammounts of damage.
This is One Piece, so Luffy dying/being defeated and Elbaph falling also can't happen.
And yet, if Imu and the GK were to leave Elbaph due to his illness/some other ticking bomb-type device would feel cheap and a repeat of Egghead.
All I can think of is Shanks, BB, Dragon or someone else finally showing up and forcing a stalemate and 'forcing' Imu and GK to retreat, which would downplay Imu's position as main villain/bad guy.
'Inconsequential' isn't the word I'm looking for but every exit to our present situation feels a disappointment in some way or another.
I still have hope for a decent and satisfying resolution but I can't picture it right now.

The true Sea Devil. Imu is a red herring. His job is to get killed by Davy Jones and give his fruit to Blackbeard. Davy Jones has the Fenrir fruit.
Exactly why feat scaling makes little sense, because you can nitpick feats to push whatever nonsense agenda you want lmfao. Hajrudin > Gaban by feats. You have to powerscale using narrative comprehension which 0% of One Piss fans possess.
Gear 5 was Oda giving up. He did not know how to make Luffy stronger in a meaningful way so he just decided to make the whole manga a joke. “You can’t criticize me if I turn my whole manga into a gag” this is what this 55 year old Japanese virgin thinks.
Also, every night when Oda goes to sleep, the ghost of Toriyama torments him and haunts his dreams. This for some reason convinced Lolda that he was in competition with Dragonball.
When Toriyama’s ghost feeds on Oda’s nightmares like a parasite, he tells Oda “you will never be as good as me,” which filled Oda with the delusion that his manga was inferior to garbage like Dragonball, and so Oda decided that the only way he can surpass a series solely surviving because of the current generation’s childhood nostalgia, was to turn his own manga into a fucking gag.
“If I took One Piece seriously, I would never surpass Dragonball.” -Oda has literally made this comment in interviews before lmfao. And that’s what Gear 5 is, it’s Luffy’s super saiyan form, but everything is retarded because Toriyama’s ghost convinced Oda to ruin his own manga.
