I believe Mars went to MJ because he went too far from the summoning area. Its like a wifi disconnect kind of thing.

See, I think that was something Oda was originally going for, it was my initial headcanon as to why Mars would just randomly show up in MJ.......but then Oda came to Elbaf and the HK's started making plans to sail out of Elbaf with the kids. Lol. So he clearly walked that one back IF he ever intended for there to be a range limit to the summoning as a downside. 😅

Ya know I always found it funny people calling him Imcel when in his normal form hes handsome and like is the ruler of the world so Im pretty sure he gets some.

All this because of some preconceived notion that he was gooning over Lily.

I think its likelier that he trusted Lily and she betrayed that trust, and he needs Vivy for a specific thing. Not gooning.

Oh, man, the sheer number of "Imu loves Lili, but like, she TOTALLY had the hots for Joyboy OMG!!!!😘😘😘" theories are actually wild. Mfers really just blatabtly ignore the part where the story literally tells us that Lili was openly on the side of Imu AGAINST Joyboy. And never betrayed him in any overt way that he could be certain was even a betrayal (even though he was clearly PRETTY sure she did, he had no evidence of it, which is why he showed up to question Cobra when he hrard he had a letter directly from Lili).

Its genuinely baffling. Like, do they not realise that if Lili was a Joyboy ally or something during the war then Alabasta wouldn't be a founding nation of the WG? And that if she was his lover or some shit they would NEVER have trusted her to be on their side (or if they did, they wouldn't be so uncertain of her betraying them; if Lili did some questionable shit while also being Joyboy's former side piece, then the knee jerk response would be "Oh, okay, so she turned on us. Gotcha.". Not "Okay, so she fucked up.......I wonder if it was an intentional fuck up though? 🤔") 😅
