Zoro is already learning the most wanked haki in Elbaf, yet against Blackbeard Pirates which is most anticipated fight in the series for more than 15 real life years, somehow Zoro will train the lesser relevant CoO

With how lethal Magellan's DF is, to remain as his equal, pre TS Shiryu has to compensate with his haki.

Well the plot actually is for zoro to practice his concious use of coc coating. There is no other reason for zoro to fight sommers than that.

I mean isn't this a third eye moment ? Everyone seems to know their job .... zoro knows sommers is a threat and a holy knight why wouldn't he go after him ? and gaban telling them they need to get stronger to beat them is more motivation. Besides the main plot I think the wings development is a very strong secondary plot. Only one being lazy is jinbei cause they need him against Zaza. Would be funny if fishmen are her weakness

This is very weird as there is no point except keeping these two engaged. Imu is the big bad and he is here to fight Luffy and Loki etc. Sanji vs KHam is to defeat Zaza so that the kids are not kidnapped. Sommers on the other hand is just waiting at the port for KHam to bring the kids.
But if Sanji defeats KHam (which he is supposed to do with the ACoC powerup) then there is no point of Sommers waiting. So what is the point of Sommers and Zoro fight? There is no direct link to a threat/time bomb here. Sommers is not going to the village to kidnap the kids, he is waiting for KHam to bring the kids. He is not actively threatening any allies. He is not a Pica level threat in DR.
Is the point of Sommers just to be defeated and explain how to defeat the HK and Gorosei.
Do you think there is more to this or just this? For a character that has so much of their personality shown it seems weird that Oda would just limit their role to be used for explaining how to defeat the HK.
In previous arcs the SHs were more like an invading rescue force but here they are the defensive force. While in EH they were defending to escape, here they are defending to stay.

Baka., The Point of the fight is clearly to show how Zoro Fights when consciously using Conquerors Haki, show how much stronger he is when he’s purposefully using the ability .

Both in Egghead and in Elbaf, Oda has to make Zoro lose a few iq points to make his fights dramatic.
Here, this is even worse than v. Lucci... somehow Oda managed to find a bigger jobber (with a lot of buffs as well).

Even prime Rayleigh didn't look this good against Sommers lmfao

This is a Blueno type of fight for Zoro maybe even easier, He has the physical stats over Sommers it’s just a matter of where he should hit him. The only way Sommers can make this fight interesting is if he has Speed and Conquerors Haki too, That dramatically improves this fight. King had Power, Speed, and Hax that’s why he was able to give Zoro a hard time. Lucci had speed but didn’t have the Power. Sommers seems to have some Power but he’s slower than Zoro. An opponent Zoro can easily hit won’t last long…..

Sanji is currently better written character, he somehow survived the flanderization of the SHs

This is where Oda's bad writing shows up.
Supposedly, Zoro doesnt know how to coat into aCoC...
...and yet, even since he first used it King fight, he has been consciously using it on moves like KoH Oni Giri and especially Dragon Damnation.
Each time DD was used, aCoC was used as well and yet, supposedly he doesnt know he is using it...
At least make him use that move or any KoH move without aCoC, at least that would make it more believable but this way, he is just self-sabotaging himself.
Oda doesnt have a plotline for Zoro in Elbaf it seems so he decided to make him go from coating in aCoC to coating in aCoC. Big brainz...
