Alright now let me explain, I know many see the villains of Elbaf which are of course the three Holy Knights as bums and they are not impressive or cool like previous villains.
But compared to previous arcs, I actually think they are handled kind of well regardless of their cool factor or power level.
Elbaf only has four villains and they are of course Imu, Sommers, Killingham, and Gunko. That is pretty much it, yes only four villains only, and not more than that.
Compare that to Dressrosa, WCI, Wano, and even Egghead.
Dressrorsa had the Donquixote Pirates along with the Marines, WCI had the entire Big Mom Pirates, Wano.....holy fuck Wano had lots of villains and many of them were worthless, and Egghead had the Five Elders, Kizaru, the Marines, and York.
Those arcs had so many villains and many of them barely got any focus, it was just Oda overcrowding a single arc with too many characters.
But Elbaf is different, instead of having so many different villains, Oda kept the numbers of villain for Elbaf to just four, and I really like that he did that.
All four of them have gotten some decent amount of focus, and all four are each playing a major role.
Sommers has lots of focus during the arc, he plays a decent role in the Elbaf flashback, he acts as the leader of the group on Elbaf(Before Imu's arrival), and he has a major fight against Zoro.
Gunko also has some major focus as well during the arc, she defeated some of the Straw Hats one of which was Jinbe, and she has this whole connection to Brook that we learn more about during Brook's flashback.
As for Killingham, he didn't get as much character focus compared to Sommers and Gunko, but he still has some decent focus. He is the one that unleashed the nightmare monsters on Elbaf to keep many of the Giants distracted, and right now he has a major fight against Sanji.
And finally there is the big bad himself, the king of the world, Imu. Imu is indirectly responsible for both Rocks and Harald's death during the Elbaf flashback, he is the one that ordered the subjugation of Elbaf, he arrived to Elbaf and powered up Sommers and Killingham, and now he is fighting against Luffy and Loki.
So you see, not only do all four of them have some decent character focus, but all four of them play a major role in their own way during the arc.
Also regardless of what some want to say about their power levels, the three Holy Knights were very close on kidnapping the children of Elbaf, and their plans were honestly not that bad.
Some were saying it should have only been Shamrock and Gunko, but the plan wouldn't have worked. Even with their regen, fighting an army of Elbaf giants is just way too much, and the Holy Knights don't want to waste time by fighting a bunch of Giants.
Sommers, Killingham, and Gunko's plan on kidnapping the children and avoiding any fights against the Giants imo was a well thought plan.
Sommers being the one to wrap the kids in invisible thorns.
Killingham being the one to put the kids to sleep and unleash the nightmare monsters.
And finally Gunko being the one to use her arrows to force the kids to walk in a certain direction.
So again the kids are put to sleep and their nightmare monsters are unleashed, the kids are then wrapped in invisible thorns, the kids are then forced to walk in a certain direction because of Gunko's arrows.
The Giants can't do anything, the nightmare monsters are keeping them distracted, and they can't save the children directly either because of the thorns.
To me it is kind of impressive that these three Holy Knights cause the strongest country in the world to go into complete panic mode, and they were very close on kidnapping the children.
Of course as we all know, their plan failed because of the Straw Hats, and of course Loki being set free.
But if the Straw Hats weren't there, and if Loki was still chained up, then their plan would have succeeded.
Overall, regardless on how some may feel about the villains of Elbaf, imo I do believe they were handled well.
