It is ass-tier writing when it comes to the execution, but concept-wise it does make sense. It's the same lesson he learned against Mr 1. A sword that cuts everything indiscriminately is not a good sword. You have to hear the voice of your target, and only strike at that. Similarly, a sword that simply releases a tornado of haki of all sorts, it's not a good sword. It has to only channel the desired type of haki aimed at the specific target.
Possible but I doubt to this degree.
The Blackbeard Pirates are humans that most likely fight with dirty tricks. Observation and ingenuity will be the determining factors in beating them.
On the other hand, even if the community refuses to aknowledge it, the Knights (and Elders) are the most unbeatable beings in the verse when they are at their peak (Omen + Family Weapon). Practically Demi-Gods.
So much that the SHs needed to have knowledge of their only weak point, otherwise this would've been a Sabaody all over again.

Shanks fans dont even argue the main point anymore, its basically just Mihawk fans stating facts and them saying "true but shanks is still stronger" it now is a completle useless debate because both sides agree on the argument itself but disagree about the conclusion of that argument.
the thing I always use to clear my head is to actually think what it means for the story, like Imagin the highest form of acoc is actually not swordsmanship how would that look in the story? well it would be like this
