They maybe weaker but at least F6 had better characters and appearances

Nobody had high expectations for Flying 6, yet they showed surprisingly nice feats.

Expectations for the holy knights were at an all time high, yet they seem like genuinely horrible fighters carried only by their regen.

Shamrock only existe because Oda didn't have the ball to make Shanks evil, so he created a Shanks clone. now, how is this character who got introduced in the very second final saga arc going to pay off? Idk

What is the point of introduzing him in Elbaf? To trash everyone and makes the MC looks a weakling? Okay, so are Luffy and Loki making a comeback? Even if we see more of Imu in future arcs, people will be no longer excited to see him again.

Not his fault, Odas pacing and stalling is horrible.

It’s not necessarily pacing, and it’s certainly not stalling.

The issue is Oda has lost his touch when it comes to building a sequence. One Piece has always been heavy on moments, but those moments were built up and delivered within a sequence that it didn’t distract from but enhanced.

Current One Piece looks familiar, but it doesn’t have the same foundation of sequences for its moments to stand on.

It’s like comparing movies from a director that used to be praised for their ability blend drama and action in memorable ways when they were forced to work with a small budget, only to lose that touch once they got 100s of millions behind the production.

Oda can still deliver on drama, that’s why the flashbacks have a high hit rate, but it’s blending that drama with action that he’s no longer elite at.

I’m not saying that either. He just lost the aura that you’d expect him to have. He’s still strong but he doesn’t feel unbeatable at this point which you’d expect the final villain to still feel like that.

With the regeneration gimmick Oda should have taken a page out of Kishimoto's book (one of the rare good pages) and just make Imu go through Edo Madara's phase here.
Destroy the whole giant army, Strawhat crew and Gaban by himself. Use flashy AoE attacks that lay the island to waste. Be untouchable and even when they manage to land a big hit just regenerate like it's not a big deal. Have the attitude of "I'll subjugate your whole country and MAKE you my soldiers".
But first he would need to make Elbaf actually feel lived in and have more than 50 citizens.

If Zoro was just hitting him with attacks like the one against Lucci or King, Sommers would be handicapped and the end would be similar as his earlier situation or like KHams.

Sommers literally had Zoro trapped in a net of thorns last chapter and instead of aiming Gram at him he shooted at some rocks to show how destructive it is, then dropped a monologue and left Zoro thinking about what Gaban and Loki told him... That's what I mean when I talk about being careless.

Switch Sommers mentality with someone like Garling or Nusjuro and Zoro is dead right there.
