Yeah but it’s become increasingly clear that Oda treats DFs and genetic modifications the way he treats Zoro and Shanks having swords… They are just bonuses in combat… What really matters is the haki, especially CoC
everything is just bonus to CoC, even Imu’s Omen shit is a bonus to CoC since Oda made sure to introduce Imu with a big CoC wave first an foremost
like Oda couldn’t even have Imu just be the “ultimate DF man” with his never ending line up of abilities and Swords with magic powers… No, the very first thing Oda has to tell us about Imu is his Big CoC.
Now everything that’s happening even with Imu is filtered around the fact that Imu has Big CoC first of all

You can make a long list of Imu and Luffy’s df abilities the same way I can make along list of All of Zoro’s sword techniques
same thing. Weapons = Df = Genetics and they are all <<<<<< CoC for everyone
Luffy’s g5 would be useless without CoC… Imu wouldn’t even be able to pierce Luffy’s skin with his magic swords if he didn’t have CoC strong enough to break Luffy’s CoC

since long ago zoro has been able to withdraw latent power and abilities against Mr.1 using the breath of all things to avoid the falling rocks, knowing and finding his sword buried under all the rubble, to cut and not at will in order to cut steel, unlock CoO and having his SWORD BEND TO HIS OWN WILL.
then again in EL agains Kaku through sheer willpower he projects and manifest his demonic aura in Ashura a literal spiritual manifestation, which expands even to his weapons.
then ffwd to rooftop piece, with every bone in his body broken and at deaths door, in dire straights desperate to protect his captain, nothing left in the tank, Woro pours every ounce of his remaining life force into a final strike unlocking CoC and scarring Kaido permanently then again against King unlocking AdvCoC
but yeah this whole sense of self is brand new and a cop out, lets keep this fucking same energy when lanji unlocks CoC randomly inb4 he ask Woro to kill him again.

So you are saying the sense of self or coc is the biggest plot armor in this manga, yes this is what we were talking about, this what makes an ant like zolo compete with country busters like Loki
Other then his sense of self zolo has nothing to bring to the table his koh mode is useless and overpowered by sommers tier opponents, luffys g5 neg diffs 1000 sommers in a line no coc you will never see loki overpowered by sommers coc or not, zolo cant bring anything to the table other than plot armor his moves are ant tier.

It's just about being sure of yourself.
For example when Zoro was hesitant to give Enma his haki vs when Zoro didn't hesitate anymore.
What happened then? He was able to use COC.
It does not contradict that COC's power/strength cannot be trained and grows alongside the user's growth.
It's about how they activate it.
Zoro vs Sommer's entire theme is this.
How does he activate his COC not how he can make it stronger.

I wasn't talking about Usopp leaving the crew in W7 but merely about him being practically useless post-ts after 2 years of supposedely intense training.
Dressrossa is where he did the most and even then he barely did the minimum.
Sanji is also a disgrace post-ts too.

Irrelevant.. Zoro's not having it while he's actively training for AdCoC.. If Black Lightning was central to Zoro controlling his CoC, he would have had Black Lightning alone instead of Green Smokes while training in this chapter..
Zoro did not use KoH this chapter..
