Spoiler One Piece Chapter Spoiler 1196 Spoilers Discussion

How are you both still on this Vinsmoke bullshit?

Chosen family and found family are majors theme of the story.

Sanji is not a Vinsmoke because that's HIS choice. It's not some core flaw he has to address and can only remedy by reclaiming the name.

No matter how badly fans want him to go by the name Vinsmoke Sanji, that is not his name. It hasn't been his name for the majority of his life. You can bet your balls on the fact it never will be again.
I’m saying Sanjis done with this. He doesn’t need any more arcs connected to these 3 because he accepted that part of himself already. He will never go as Vinsmoke Sanji, but he has accepted the transformation as part of him.

Oda is going to insert a flashback of Law with Corazon, who will say that Law's greatest weakness is relying too much on his DF, and then Law will remember that and suddenly unlock Conqueror's Haki. All his moronic fans will praise Oda, claiming it’s quality character development, that Oda is a brilliant author, and that anyone who disagrees is illiterate.

CoC: Color of Clowns

"No... gonna steal it back..."

Sanji's CoC reaches a dramatic climax next chapter

It's so powerful, it gets in the eyes of all of the manga's readers

I guess that since Sanji's CoC is being revealed now... we're in the Rising Action of Elbaph

Sanji's CoC is so girthy and blinding that next chapter will have an epilepsy warning for flashing lights even though it's a comic.

Things related to Sanji we still need to learn about
  • origin of flames
  • Power of Love
  • intended Germa ability
  • Brook's history with Germa
I also think it's very possible we learn more about the Vinsmokes of 300 years ago and Sora the Marine Hero.

Sanji's mother may also have revelations coming. Maybe she's a descendant of the Marine Hero, or she was a princess of Karakuri Island, where Vegapunk is from.

Oda can establish this inner conflict, self-loathing stuff since Whole Cake Island, displaying subtly through the arcs, highlight it in key moments maybe his cooking is different, Zoro observing Sanji and sincerely give advice to him through the arcs and adventure's small moments or brief reflection segments, not just battle, to properly develop Sanji's character.

But no, just use battles to force instant "char development" only to never show the change again throughout maybe except in next main fights lol.
I said this before but they ignored me lol

I've been very patient with you, so idk if you are trolling or just this stupid and need everything spelled out for you.

The point isn't that sacrificing yourself for others is inherently bad.

The point is that doing so because you think your life has inherently less value is deeply unhealthy and dangerous, like Gaban said.
It's hypocritical. The crew constantly views eachother as more important than themselves. But it's only a negative when Sanji does it, and even then only half the time. Oda sure didn't portray most of his sacrifices as a negative in pre-skip.

Yet when Sanji actually does treat himself as expendable (letting women like Kalifa and Black Maria beat on him), Oda then goes and has characters portray it as a positive, like Nami praising his chivalry in Ennie's Lobby, ussop praising his manliness when Sanji was happy his body got hurt over Nami's in Punk Hazard, etc.

That's what I've been saying. Like in the 150 chapters of Egghead + Elbaf, Sanji didn't display this self loathing even once. Like not even when he failed to protect Bonney 3 times, or when he failed to save Vegapunk, or recently when he got one shot by Imu.
At no point did he think like "wow, I suck. Judge was right".

Did you create this chart yourself? A+ stuff

I like the idea of Sanji trying to overcome negative feelings associated with his timeskip training but Ivankov being his fear seems a bit too recent an addition on Oda's part. I'm liking the focus on Sanji's mistreatment of himself and I think this adds to that but could've been handled better.

Killingham fusing with a nightmare is very good though. He should continue making good use of his fruit and try to overwhelm with Longinus on top of that.

I've always been all for longer Sanji fights. As long as Oda doesn't cut away too much for the rest, I'm good with another chapter or so of the fight.

I assume Sanji will reflect on Zeff before awakening CoC next chapter. He's moved past the issue he's been having, now he just needs to display his CoC and start getting the upperhand on Killingham.

So Sanji subconsciously lives on the edge? Not coz he gets some type of thrill out of of it but coz he doesn’t really value himself.
Self-Worth 🤔

I still don't completely understand it but reckon the panels would make it a bit easier to visualize.
I can understand Sanji having a tendency to be self-sacrificial as a direct consequence of him not valuing his own life but still don't get the leaving himself open to attacks bit except the implication is that Sanji subconciusly wants to die, so doesn't have an attachment to life and subconsiouly puts himself in situations that put his life at risk?
