I doubt his coo will get any sort of progression here.
I mean surely? no?
Sanji’s affinity is CoO, yet it’s being revealed that he’s not utilizing it to the best of his ability because he’s taking hits he should be dodging.
Whilst it’s true that Sanji could’ve dodged more hits in the past if he wasn’t so self-destructive, it could also be interpreted as Sanji subconsciously limiting his potential with CoO, as it’s clear he’s great at it but not really utilizing it to the best of his ability. Sanji being a bit more intentional about his defense will result in him taking fewer hits, but it doesn’t mean his CoO is suddenly going to be perfect. Rather, now that he’s going to be intentional about it, it gives him the opportunity to take it up a notch to the next level.
I said this a shit ton on WCI, but Sanji’s CoO was already at the point where he was subconsciously able to dodge attacks without being aware of it, which was a level Luffy only got to during the peak of his fight against Katakuri, when he dodged Flampe’s silent bullet just before he acquired FS. So FS is gonna come to Sanji quick time, as he was already at the door, he just refused to open it.
Also, I just realized something pretty interesting, Oda could potentially be utilizing the wings’ specialities/affinities in Haki to stimulate their CoC awakenings.
On Wano against King, Zoro had to raise his AP to the max in order to damage King, and the result of that was his CoC awakening. In his head he was just trying to release as much Haki as possible to get past King’s defence, so I do wonder if Oda’s gonna have Sanji awaken his CoC by pushing his CoO to the limit.
Zoro v King -> focus on offensive ability
Sanji v Killingham -> focus on defensive ability
